The arrival this month of Jed Allan in General Hospital is the ideal occasion to give a progress report on the presence of the former actors of Santa Barbara in the soap-operas currently aired in the United States (see, for the evolution, the News of September 1999).
General Hospital

Jed Allan the third

This is the event of the month in the world of the American soap-opera : Jed Allan (ex-C.C. Capwell) joined this month General Hospital  ! Since March 1 (his birthday), the actor resumed the part of the patriarch Edward Quartermain, left vacant in February by actor John Ingle. Jed is from now on the third actor to play this character... what should not frighten him, since he was also the fifth actor hired in Santa Barbara to play C.C. ! Jed had, between 2001 and 2003, made some appearances in late soap Port Charles in the part of Edward Grant (see the News of August 2003).

Jed Allan will find at the time of his arrival in General Hospital Nancy Lee Grahn (ex-Julia Wainwright), present in that soap since 1996. Jed will have on the other hand missed for a few days Lane Davies (ex-Mason Capwell) since this last one has, let's remind it, left the show last January (see the News of January).

Passions

Louise Sorel never stays

Since her departure from Days of our Lives in 1999, Louise Sorel has been proposed especially short appea-
-rances in the soaps Port Charles and All my Children (see the News of March 2000 and July 2001). It is again the time of only a few episodes that the actress will make her return on the screen, as from March 19, in Passions.News of March 2000 and July 2001). All my Children

Marcy Walker (ex-Eden Capwell) and Vincent Irizarry (ex-Dr. Scott Clark) are from now on well installed for several years in All my Children (that we saw in France the time of only one week in March 2003, see the News of April 2003). After a departure in 1997, Eva LaRue Callahan (ex-Margot Collins) retook her place two years ago (see the News of May 2002) at the sides of her husband, John Callahan (ex-Craig Hunt).

Guiding Light

Guiding Light is the refuge, since many years, of Justin Deas (ex-Keith Timmons), Robert Newman (ex-Kirk Cranston), David Wolos-Fonteno (ex-Gus Jackson) and Kim Zimmer (ex-Jodie Walker). It should be noted that Marj Dusay (ex-Pamela Conrad), who had left the show in 1999, took again her place in December 2002 (see the News of December 2002). Let's also note in the credits the presence of Crystal Chappell, who was Jane Kingsley, a friend of Eden's, in 1990 in Santa Barbara.

The Bold and the Beautiful

The soap with the quite-immutable main cast since its creation welcomed in its walls these last months not less than three former actors of Santa Barbara : Joseph Mascolo (ex-Carlo Alvarez), Jack Wagner (ex-Warren Lockridge, see the News of March 2003) and his partner of the time, Sydney Penny (ex-B.J. Walker, see the News of July 2003). And it is without counting Robin Mattson (ex-Gina DeMott), the time of a few weeks at the end of 2003 (see the News of November 2003).

The Young and the Retless

The success show The Young and the Restless shelters again since 1999 Eileen Davidson (ex-Kelly Capwell). The actress was already one of the pillars of the show between 1982 and 1988.

Days of our Lives

Melissa Brennan Reeves (ex-Jade Perkins, see the News of September 2000) made her return in Days of our Lives in 2000, five years after a first departure. She shares the cast with in particular Renée Jones, a.k.a. Dr. Toni Carlin friend of Kelly's in the first months of Santa Barbara.

One Life to Live

Lastly, since the departures of Timothy Gibbs (ex-Dash Nichols, see the News of March 2001) and Roscoe Born (ex-Robert Barr and Quinn Armitage, see the News of July 2003), only one face is recognizable in One Life to Live : that of Nathan Purdee, who was Jed, Heather's lover, in 1989 in Santa Barbara.

In France

Henry Darrow (ex-Rafael Castillo) will star on March 17 in Runaway Jury, a film with trial and... jury, with Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman. He plays there the part of Sebald.

 In the United States

Forry Smith (ex-Reese Walker) will star this month in Paparazzi, in the part of Deputy Walker. For the little story, the scenario is signed by Forrest Smith. That can't be invented !
