Change of program for Signy Coleman

06/29/2006

Signy Coleman (ex-Celeste DiNapoli) will not spend July 14 with the heroes of The Young and the Restless (see the News of 06/11). Because of a family problem, the actress had to desert the stage at the last moment. She will be replaced by Beth Toussaint.

Summer appearances

06/11/2006

Signy Coleman (ex-Celeste DiNapoli) will make an unique appearance in The Young and the Restless next July 14. Elle will take again the character of Hope Adams Wilson that she played between 1993 and 1999, then at the time of two sporadic comebacks in 2000 and 2002 (see the News of December 2000). She will make in July only an appearance in one vision of the imperishable Victor Newman.
Jack Wagner (ex-Warren Lockridge) continues, as for him, his appearances on stage. Besides his concert on next July 01
(see the News of 05/16), he will be on June 17 and 18 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, for two free concerts. Then on July 30, he will sing God Bless America and The National Anthem at the opening of the base-ball match of the Los Angeles Dodgers versus the Washington Nationals at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
At last, let's talk about theater. Lane Davies (ex-Mason Capwell) takes again his part A Midsummer Night's Dream (
see the News of 01/17) for nine representations, as from June 30 on the campus of the California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California.
As for Kim Zimmer (ex-Jodie Walker), she goes back on stage too (see the
News of August 2002) : she will star in the part Gypsy at the Barn Theater in Augusta, Michigan, from July 25 to August 06. Enough to cheer your summer nights...

A season after the other

06/06/2006

John Allen Nelson (ex-Warren Lockridge) is not the only happy winner of the next TV season in the United States (see the News of 05/01).
If the TV shows of Eric Close (Without a Trace), Paul Johansson (One Tree Hill), Constance Marie (George Lopez) and Eva LaRue (CSI : Miami) were renewed for the season 2006-2007, a new one may see the light. 3 lbs. will tell the adventures of an arrogant neurosurgeon, where Julia Campbell (ex-Courtney Capwell) will play the character of Roberta Mack. The show is announced for beginning of
2007 on CBS.
However a disappointed one this season :
Kyle Secor (ex-Brian Bradford), whose show Commander-in-Chief knew its end, because of a low ratings, after 18 episodes on ABC.

On the American and French screens

06/06/2006

Let's start, for one time, by a DVD release : Puff, Puff, Pass, a black comedy starring Constance Marie (ex-Nikki Alvarez), was released last month directly in DVD. Not a proof of quality, according to the critic.
Poseidon knows more success. Since its release in the United States last May 12 (see the
News of 10/14/2005), the disaster movie with Gordon Thomson (ex-Mason Capwell) fills the theatres And it should be the same in France as from June 14. Gordon plays there the part of Jay, victim of the shipwreck of the famous boat.
The other releases of this month of June :
American Dreamz, on June 07 in France, where Bernard White (ex-Angel Ramirez) plays Agha Babur in a movie that mixes real-TV and politic; and on June 16 in the United States : Garfield : A Tail of Two Kitties, the continuation of the movie where the hero is a cat, but where Ian Abercrombie (ex-Philip) makes an appearance as Smithee.
At last, to discover on the cabled channel Lifetime on June19, the TV movie A Girl Like Me : The Gwen Araujo Story, a call for tolerance starring Henry Darrow (ex-Rafael Castillo).

A new site about Marcy Walker

05/23/2006

Marcy Walker is back... on the internet ! A new site devoted to the actress is just born : Marcy Walker Online.
On the menu : biography, press articles, transcriptions of scenes from Santa Barbara, forum and, to come, a photos gallery. The ex-Eden Capwell deserved this consideration, even after her withdrawal of public life in this beginning of year (see the
News of 01/17).

Jack Wagner wins the rose

05/16/2006

Absent of the Daytime Emmy awards, Jack Wagner had more luck this week-end at the 46th Rose d'Or festival of Lucerne, Switzerland. The actor indeed won there the best soap actor award, for his character of Dominick Payne Marone in The Bold and the Beautiful.
Besides the ex-Warren Lockridge of Santa Barbara pursues his singer career. Next step : the House of Blues in Anaheim, California, for an unique concert next July 01.

John Allen Nelson get prepared for fall

05/01/2006

The American network FOX has just announced the next shows which will appear on its air next September. Among the announces, Vanished will count in its cast John Allen Nelson (ex-Warren Lockridge). The show will tell in a whole season the kidnapping and the research of a senator's wife. A kidnapping which would hide an amazing conspiracy. Around John Allen, will be found Gale Harold (Queer as Folk) and Ming-Na (E.R.). Thirteen episodes have already been ordered by FOX, for the moment only the pilot has been shot.
John Allen Nelson knows a little success on the American television, since he joined in a regular part
(Walt Cummings) the show 24 at the end of the last season.
On a private hand, this is less happy : the actor indeed divorced his wife, Swedish Åse, in last September, with whom he has two children.

Kim Zimmer winner at the 33th Daytime Emmy awards

04/30/2006

For her 10th nomination at the Daytime Emmy awards in 21 years, Kim Zimmer (ex-Jodie Walker) left as winner this year, in the category of the best outstanding lead actress. Her character of Reva Shayne Lewis Cooper Spaulding Lewis she plays in Guiding Light since 1983, has convinced the jury.
Her partners of Guiding Light and ex-of Santa Barbara, Robert Newman (ex-Kirk Cranston) and Crystal Chappell (ex-Jane Kingsley), also nominated (see the
News of 02/09), have, as for them, returned empty-handed.

Stephen Nichols goes on and goes back

04/19/2006

Left in 1990, after five years in the skin of Steven Johnson a.k.a. "Patch" for the head-band he wore on the left eye, Stephen Nichols (ex-Dr Skyler Gates) should make his come-back in Days of Our Lives next June. What surprise do the writers reserve to him this time ?

Some bracelets for the return of Santa Barbara

04/17/2006

A new initiative was launched by the mailing list Yahoo! Groups Get SB on TV in the fight for a rerun of Santa Barbara in the United States : silicone bracelets setting up an affirmative "I Want Santa Barbara on SoapNet !" The idea is to transmit the message by an original and outstanding way to the concerned channel, specialized in reruns of old soaps, but also to influent interlocutors, such as the magazine TV Guide. Each bracelet is sold $3 (includes first-class shipping), or $5 for two. The more bracelets will be sold and send, the more the message will have impact towards the medias. The game worst to be tempted !

The news of the soap-opera in France

04/17/2006

A good and a bead news about the soap-operas in France... Days of our Lives could know its last episodes in France these weeks to come. According the forum of the AFSO, the soap doubling would have just stopped without any explanation and the association fears that the channel France 2 has decided to take it away from the air. That would be the second disappearance of the soap in France, this time after six consecutive years on the air (see the News of August 2000).
Another soap abandoned by our French networks may do, on the other side, its come-back on screen :
All my Children (see the News of April 2003). TF1 announced that it considers to give another chance to this soap to make its place in France, and as from... 2007. Let's be patient !

King Lane

04/13/2006

After A Midsummer Night's Dream last February (see the News of 01/17), Lane Davies (ex-Mason Capwell) continues his interpretation work in theatres of William Shakespeare's great classics parts.
It is the part King Lear he chose to attack now, at the time of seven representations as from next April 20, at the Fine Arts Theatre of the University of Georgia.
If you are on the spot at the end of this month, no hesitations to have : enjoy your chance to discover the actor on stage !

Eva LaRue fired, but nominated

04/12/2006

The nominations for the next ALMA awards, which honour every year the American Latino artistic personalities, fell this week-end. Among the nominated stars in the category of best outstanding actress in a daytime drama, can be found Eva LaRue (ex-Margot Collins), for her character of Dr. Maria Santos Grey in All my Children. A surprise, since the actress was fired from the soap in May last year (see the News of 05/02/2005) ! The ceremony will occur next June 05 and will be aired on the American television on ABC. Eva had already won that prize in 1998 for the same part.
Let's remember that the actress has, since September 2005, joined the cast of the show CSI : Miami, in the part of Natalia Boa Vista (see the
News of 08/08/2005).

Melissa Brennan Reeves leaves Salem

04/04/2006

Salem will lose this summer a new resident : Melissa Reeves Brennan (ex-Jade Perkins) is on the departure. This is the production team of the soap Days of our Lives which announced the information to the magazine Soap Opera Weekly in sale this week in the United States. The actress was playing since 1985 (the year of her departure from Santa Barbara) the character of Jennifer Horton Deveraux. The actress had indeed already made infidelities to the soap between 1995 and 2000 (see the News of September 2000), but her departure had the been voluntary.
On a private side, Melissa is since 1990 the wife of Scott Reeves (Ryan McNeil in The Young and the Restless), whom she met on the stage of the soap Days of our Lives in 1988. The couple is parent of two children : a daughter,
Emily Taylor and a son, Lawrence David.
