Nancy Lee Grahn victorious at the 39th Daytime Emmy awards

She won ! After six unsuccessful nominations between 2000 and 2011, Nancy Lee Grahn finally won a second Daytime Emmy award in the category outstanding supporting actress, 23 years after the one she had won in 1989 for her part of Julia Wainwright in Santa Barbara !
Only one small disappointment : the actress was not present at the ceremony, which happened on June 23 in Los Angeles. She had indeed taken other commitments well before to know the date of the ceremony. It is the actress Finola Hughes who accepted the award on her behalf.
Less luck on the other hand for Crystal Chappell (ex-Jane Kingsley in 1990) in the category
outstanding lead actress, who came-back empty-handed.

Always more to listen to on Santa Barbara in music

Big update today on the site Santa Barbara in music, the little brother of Santa Barbara : le site Francais : More than 50 new songs, including instrumentals and a new section "Specials"!
To discover right now on !

Eileen Davidson ready to go ?

Eileen Davidson (ex-Kelly Capwell) fired from The Young and the Restless ? This is at least the information that the actress released today on her Tweeter account.
came back there in 1999, alternating periods under contract as a regular actress or as a simple recurring actress, even going to spend six months in The Bold and Beautiful in 2007 (see the News of 02/02/2007), always in her part of Ashley Abbott.
Rumors say she is on the starting line to join Days of
our Lives, that she left in 1998 after five years of loyal service. To be continued...

Some changes at the 39th Daytime Emmy awards

Two episodes for Todd McKee

Every six months, he returns to make a short appearance the time of one episode or two... Todd McKee (ex-Ted Capwell) is back in The Bold and the Beautiful on CBS on April 13 and 18.
He reprises his role as Jake Maclaine, seen
the last time in December 2011. American friends, go to your TV sets !

Sydney Penny on Lifetime

Sydney Penny (ex.B.J. Walker) has announced it herself on her Facebook page : her latest TV movie The Wife He Met Online will air this Saturday, April 21 on the cable channel Lifetime.
Sydney stars as Georgia, a woman who will make life impossible for a man (played by Cameron Mathison) met on a dating site on the internet.
The actress is also expected
in theaters in the coming months in two films : Heart of the Country by John Ward, and To Kill a Memory, a western signed Dustin Rikert.

Ruthless Gordon Thomson

Return on the screen for Gordon Thomson (ex-Mason Capwell) ! Like many of his former partners of Santa Barbara, it is in a web series, Devanity, that the actor will make his comeback.
Indeed he will play Preston Regis, a ruthless jewelry magnate, in at least two episodes of the third season to come.
A return we will watch with great pleasure.

Is there a pilot for Eric Close ?

The pilots season began in the United States : Eric Close (ex-Sawyer Walker) just shot in Nashville, a show planned for the 2012-2013 season on the network ABC.
Eric plays Teddy
James, the husband of a country singer whose career is on the decline. At his side, Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere.
A few more weeks to see if ABC will give the green light for a full season of this
upcoming series.
It would be a chance for Eric Close to return to a regular role, two years after the end of
Without a Trace and the cancellation of Chaos last year after only 13 episodes.

Soap Opera Weekly is no longer

The magazine Soap Opera Weekly has ceased its publication. Created in November 1989, the "little brother" of famous Soap Opera Digest met financial difficulties for several years now, especially due to the press crisis. The interest of its readers had also declined following the fall in the number of soap-operas still broadcast on American television : they are only 4 today, against 19 in the 70s.
Santa Barbara : le site Francais
continues to republish some articles of the magazine in the section Press articles.

Terri Garber's comeback to the screens

We considered her definitively converted in real estate (see the News of 09/23/2011), but Terri Garber (ex-Suzanne Collier) did not say her last word as an actress !
Terri has indeed joined the cast of the last two episodes of the web series
Miss Behave. Multi-awarded, the series returns on June 24 for its final conclusion on the web.
But everything is not ended for all that,
because a spinoff is being prepared for next year. And it is planned that in Reign, Terri Garber takes back in a regularly way her part of Elizabeth Archer.
We will not thus stop
watching Terri Garber on our screens (albeit on computers), and for our biggest pleasure !

Allan, Coster and Davies, one more time !

Fans of Lane Davies (ex-Mason Capwell), Jed Allan (ex-C.C. Capwell) and Nicolas Coster (ex-Lionel Lockridge) ? Do not miss the second half of the second season of the web series The Bay, which debuts on April 26 on the internet (see theNews of 03/08/2011).
Many actors
of the soap opera world recently joined the series for these new episodes, to discover on
the site of the program... until perhaps one day a television broadcast ? ?
