John O'Hurley plays comedy

Every year at mid-May, the American TV networks announce the new shows they intend to launch on screens at the re-opening of September. Among the projects to be retained for September 2003, the cabled channel UPN announced the production of The Mullets, a family sitcom of which one of the main actors will be John O'Hurley (ex-Stephen Slade). A return to television in flesh and bone for the actor, since excepted some fugacious appearances on cinema, John O' Hurley specialized himself these last years in the doubling of animations (see the News of September 2002). The Mullets should be aired every Tuesday at 9.30 p.m..

Constance Marie resignes

Another former star of Santa Barbara ensured to be refound at the re-opening of September : Constance Marie (ex-Nikki Alvarez). Her TV show, George Lopez, was renewed on ABC. Constance will thus play there Angie Lopez, the wife of George Lopez (the real name of the actor who plays his own role here) for a third season (see the News of May 2002). Just note that her preceding show, American Family (see the News of February 2002), had been cancelled by the channel PBS after only 22 episodes in September 2002 (the show is besides currently aired on the Swiss channel TSR1 and is awaited in France soon).

Deception

We were waiting for applaud Nancy Lee Grahn, Eileen Davidson or even Kim Zimmer : finally none of these three nominated actresses obtained a price at the ceremony of the Daytime Emmy awards held on last 16 May. The award indeed went to Susan Flannery (The Bold and the Beautiful), the eldest of the nominated ones in the category of best outstanding lead actress.

The prediction has been correct (see the News of December 2002) : Eileen Davidson (ex-Kelly Capwell) gave birth on last May 19 to a little boy, named Jesse Thomas.

And as it is traditionally said, the father, Vincent Van Patten (The Young and the Restless), the mother and the child are fine.

Robin Wright always active

Beautiful Kelly of Santa Barbara well knew to negotiate her career since her departure from the show : here that she is on the point of shooting her already 18th and 19th movies.
In A Home At the End of the World, by Michael Mayer, she will be Clare, the friend of a gay guy she is having the baby of and who proposes to raise the kid with his boyfriend. The shooting having just begun, the film will not be released before the end of the year in the United-States.

Robin will then continue with The Last Face, a film directed by Erin Dignam, with Spanish Javier Bardem, whose release is not envisaged before 2004. By then, connect the cameras and action !

To prolong the topicality of Robin Wright, do not pass beside the new Spanish site devoted to her, simply baptized Robin Wright Penn. Created at the beginning of May, it already contains many biographical information on the actress (in Spanish only for the moment) and an impressive number of photos. A site in any case unavoidable.

The net surfers get mobilized
Like Another World as from July 01, why Santa Barbara could not make its return on the American cabled channel SoapNet, specialized in the reruns of soaps which marked their time ? It is the question that have been asked for a few weeks by many American net surfers. Thus a huge action was launched through a mailing-list (Yahoo! Groups Get SB on TV), but also a site (Help us Get Santa Barbara on TV !) created especially for the occasion. The ways of action considered ? To enter in relation with the biggest number of officials and people having took part in the show being able to support the request towards SoapNet. An action to be supported without waiting, from both sides of the Atlantic.

 Enigmas

In n°545, directed by John Sedwick, written by the Dobsons, Charles Pratt Jr., Patrick Mulcahey, Frank Salisbury and Courtney Simon, in September 1986, Lionel announces to Minx that he will make archaeological excavations in the Capwell property (in the house and under the belvedere). Minx is worried, she is opposed to that : she says to her son that if he begins these researches, he will regret it all his life ! We well feel that points at the horizon an old family secrecy, a corpse buried at the belvedere or another thing. Nobody will never know it because this script did not have any continuation : Lionel made his excavations with Jane, then gave up without any reason. What was thus the reason of Minx's fear ?
