Richard Hatch in
the galaxy
Since his departure from Santa Barbara in 1990, Richard Hatch tried, at the time of many projects, to find again the success which was his at the time of the TV show Battlestar Galactica. But his ambitions of launching a remake or a continuation of the famous science fiction series of the Seventies never had the chance to get concretized. Richard however managed this year to refind a little of Captain Apollo, the character he used to play in Battlestar Galactica, by lending his voice to the video game adapted from this whimsical space conquest. Among his other results in this end of year, the ex-Stephen Slade of Santa Barbara can be proud of having written and directed The Great War of Magellan, a short film of science fiction, in which he reserved a small role to himself. The unavowed purpose of this production : to prove his talents of scenario writer and his capacity to direct special effects for that, finally, he could have the chance to make reappear from its ashes its beloved Battlestar Galactica... |

friendship
Kim Zimmer has a lot of great ideas... and of good friends within the production team of the soap Guiding Light, where she officiates for eight years now. The ex-Jodie Walker of Santa Barbara A indeed succeeded in making hire during November her own son, Jake Weary, the time of an episode of the show. A practice which reminds Jed Allan's wink who, in 1990, had allowed his son, actor Mitch Brown, to play the time of a flashback scene his own character of C.C. Capwell in Santa Barbara ! |
Santa
Barbara wants to conquer a younger audience ! Santa Barbara wants to seduce the young people more ! The slogan has just been launched in the United States by the network NBC which hopes to increase the ratings of the preferred soap of the French televiewers. From now on, Santa Barbara only occupies a modest thirteenth place in the classification of the daytime soaps preferred by the televiewers on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Fifteen percent of the faithful fans of Santa Barbara are between 15 and 24 years old, what Deirdre Hanssen, director of the network NBC, judges insufficient. "By introducing more situations based on humour, we hope to gain young televiewers not very inclined, up to now, to follow this kind of shows !", it is explained. There is currently six million faithful televiewers to the twenty daytime soaps which share the favours of the public on the three big American networks. Extract from Ciné Télé Revue, 1988 |
