The first book on Santa Barbara has been published

With several months late on the originally scheduled date (see the News of 05/17/2021), the first book on Santa Barbara has been published ! All the fans who ordered it at the time have received it to this day.
Let recall that Santa Barbara - the Fan Book contains 290 pages of information about the show, including original production notes, actors and actresses biographies, behind-the-scenes reports, many and rare black and white and color photos, and an exclusive preface signed by A Martinez (ex-Cruz Castillo). It is also delivered in a superb gift paper and accompanied by small very welcome gifts, including a 2023 calendar !
The demand is so big that Thorsten, its author, launched a new pre-order offer
on his Facebook page. 50 pre-orders are required to launch a reissue before October 31.
Do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed !

Robin Wright divorces

Sad news : Robin Wright (ex-Kelly Capwell) divorces. She had married French Clément Giraudet in August 2018 (see the News of 08/17/2018), after they met in September 2017 at the Paris Fashion Week.
Robin talks about "irreconcilable differences".
At 56 years old, it is the third divorce for Robin Wright, after Dane Witherspoon (ex-Joe Perkins) and Sean Penn, with whom she had two children, Dylan Frances and Hopper Jack.
Miranda Wilson won her bet

In the interview she had given us in 2013, Miranda Wilson (ex-Sandra Mills) told us of her wish to resume her role as Megan Hathaway DiMera in Days of our Lives. A hope for which she was still campaigning in 2018 (see the News of 01/28/2018).
It is now done ! Since this July, Miranda and Megan are back in Days of Our Lives : Beyond Salem, the spin-off of Days of our Lives, aired in the United States on the Peacock platform.
A return all the more unexpected because in 1985, Megan was supposed to be found dead in Days of our Lives ! Season 2 of Days of Our Lives : Beyond Salem only lasts for 5 episodes, but we hope that Miranda's striking reappearance will encourage NBC to also host her in Days of our Lives. Long resurrection to Megan Hathaway !

Nancy Lee Grahn loses at the 49th Daytime Emmy awards

The 49th Daytime Emmy awards were held on June 24.
Nominated last year in the category outstanding lead actress, it is in the category outstanding supporting actress
that Nancy Lee Grahn (ex-Julia Wainwright) competed this year. Unfortunately, her colleague from General Hospital, Kelly Thiebaud, won the award.
This did not prevent Nancy from carrying her message about her opposition to the revocation of the constitutional right to abortion in the United States.
Regularly nominated, Nancy Lee Grahn won her last Daytime Emmy award in 2012.

Soap Opera Digest remembers Gina

In its issue dated February 21, 2022, the American magazine Soap Opera Digest asked its readers to vote for their favorite daytime soap-operas bad girls.
The character of Gina only gets a small 2%, but at least has the merit to see her best bad actions summarized in a short article.
A nice homage anyway, almost 30 years after...

Robert Newman plays the substitutes

Much like he had replaced Joseph Bottoms at short notice in the role of Kirk Cranston in Santa Barbara in 1986, Robert Newman will play the substitutes in The Young and the Restless !

The 63-year-old actor was indeed called to general surprise to replace Richard Burgi in the part of Ashland Locke. Burgi was fired at the beginning of the week for failing to comply with the anti-COVID-19 health regulations imposed by CBS.

Robert Newman is very popular among the soap-opera fans in the United States for having played with Kim Zimmer (ex-Jodie Walker) the supercouple of Guiding Light, Josh Lewis and Reva Shayne, from 1981 to 2009.
