The list of the nominations for the 29th Daytime Emmy awards has been made public last month in the United States. This ceremony, celebrated each year the afternoon where takes place in the evening the ceremony of the Emmy awards, rewards the programs exclusively aired during the day : from soap-operas to TV games, passing by programms for children or talk-shows.

This year, a great surprise for the fans of Santa Barbara : the nomination in the category of outstanding lead actor in a soap of Vincent Irizarry (ex-Dr. Scott Clark) for his character of Dr. David Hayward in All My Children (soon in France on TF1). Opposed to him, the other nominated ones are Peter Bergman, Hunt Block, Jack Scalia and Robert Newman (who was the substitute of Joseph Bottoms in the role of Kirk Cranston in 1986 in Santa Barbara ). Also to notice the nomination of Crystal Chappell (ex-Jane Kingsley in 1990) for the award of outstanding supporting actress for her character of Olivia Spencer Lewis in Guiding Light.

The ceremony of the Daytime Emmy awards will happen on May 17 and will be aired in the United States on CBS. We wish good luck to Vincent...

Santa Barbara watchable every day on the net !

Perhaps some of us do not have escaped to this happy phenomenon : the Russian network RTR channel, in addition to its traditional stations, also airs on the net. A news which would not deserve in particular to be underlined if RTR was not also the channel which daily airs Santa Barbara (see the News of March 2000) ! Thus, from Monday to Friday, from 9.20 a.m. to 10.20 a.m. (schedule of Paris), the net surfers of the whole world can connect on the site of the channel or a special server and profit from the airing in Russia of the last year of Santa Barbara !

Aired in its original version, the show is however doubled in Russian directly over the American voices, which allows, by chance, to decipher a part of the dialogues.

The episodes currently aired come from summer 1992. Still some episodes to enjoy before the final departure of A Martinez... See that on tomorrow morning !

Suffering from pneumonia - fortunately without any gravity - Nancy Lee Grahn (ex-Julia Wainwright) had to temporarily give up the stage of the soap General Hospital last month. It is the actress Susan Diol who replaced her for two days on screen, as she had already done it at the time of a preceding indisposition of Nancy in November 2001. Cured, Nancy was able to retake her character of Alexis Davis on March 19.

It is under the name of Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (her new married name; see the News of November 2000) that ex-Lisa Fenimore of Santa Barbara features this month in the movie Just Visiting, simultaneously in the United States and in France.

The film, simple remake of the our very French Les Visteurs by Jean-Marie Poiré, thus reunites on a same screen Christian Clavier, Jean Réno, Christina Applegate (Married With Children) and Bridgette Wilson, who plays Amber. A curiosity we will probably not have to hesitate to occur in spite of the presence of the actress... The release dates are April 06 in the United States and April 11 in France, as in Belgium.
