Scott is finally back in Santa Barbara after two weeks in London. Heather scolds him for not calling her, but Scott defends himself by swearing to be in love with her. Eden and Cruz discover a new mannequin set up in their outdoor area. Cruz is about to crack, but Eden calms him. Cain decorates the living room for Andrea's return. But she refuses to go back with him until he has taken his situation in hand and consulted a psychiatrist to control his violence. She then visits the Major Hamilton whom she accuses of being at the origin of her break up with Cain. Shortly afterwards, the Major opens a drawer of his office and a towel covered with blood comes out of it. Finally, Andrea decides to help Cain...

Cain invites Andrea to the Halloween fancy-dress ball which is taking place in the evening, but she refuses. Heather is angered by her father who placed Scott as a guard at the party. Vic Boswell, persuaded that Cain is the rapist, asks Lydia Saunders to entice him during the ball. Eden ends up persuading Cruz to agree to go there even though the idea that the rapist is present dissatisfies him. At the Country-club, the party finally begins. T.J., who tries to scare Kelly, is shown the door by C.C.'s men. Called to the hospital, Zack must leave Heather, but she is soon joined by Scott who has succeeded in being the replacement. Cain, who discovers that Andrea came together with Cruz and Eden, is furious with her. She answers by telling him that everything is finished between them. On the point of blowing up, Cain prefers going out to get some fresh air. On the beach where she gone out to think, Andrea is attacked by a man dressed in black...

From this episode, Russell Curry replaces Wendell J. Grayson in the role of Lieutenant Vic Boswell.

Andrea is left for dead on the beach. Kelly, who believes she has seen a man in black in the toilets, informs Cruz. But it is only Gina, dressed up as count Dracula. Scott offers Heather to finish the party at home. The whole Chinese decor, adapted to the topic of the costumes, waits for Heather there. Both make love. Twice, Gina is returned from the party by C.C.. Cruz and Vic Boswell discover Phillip Hamilton, a knife in his hand, in front of Andrea's inanimate body. He tells them that he has just withdrawn the knife from the body of the victim. Back in the party, Cruz announces the death of Andrea to Eden and Cain, and then puts an end to the party. At the police station, Cruz, Vic and Julia question Cain then the Major Hamilton. He seems persuaded that the rapist is Cain...

With Andrea not having close family, Cain asks Cruz and Eden to help him to organise the funeral. Eden asks C.C. to give her the guest list of the party as well as details of all entries and exits. But since she knows each of the names, Cruz gets her to accept that the rapist may be somebody whom they know. C.C., being at the origin of the party which attracted the rapist, feels responsible for the death of Andrea. He is comforted by Sophia. Pushed to the limit by Vic Boswell, Cain hits him to the face. But Julia agrees not to charge him for it, which makes Boswell angry who sees it as a kind of immunity for Cain due his links with the Capwells. Heather takes a dim view of the friendship joining her father and Victoria during a meeting with Michael's new parish. Sonny tells Gina about his apprehension to marry Julia. He imagines an unreliable marriage where it is him who marries Julia and the father Michael! By leaving the Country-club where she has just had words with T.J., Sophia seems coherent by somebody...

Cain places himself on Andrea's grave when he surprises Lydia Saunders spying on him behind a bush. He calls into question his friendship by suspecting her of getting closer to him only for her job, which she denies. By discussing this later with Eden, Cain realises that she has lost complete confidence in him. On advice from Michael, Cruz meets Philmore Winsley, an arrested serial rapist, to help him to establish a profile of the video rapist. He explains to him that the rapist is trying to take revenge on women who made him suffer during his childhood and that it is more than likely someone Eden knows. He then says to Cruz that even once the rapist is behind bars, he and Eden will never be able to forget this drama. Dr Zack Kelton encourages Eden to undergo an amniocentesis to know the identity of the father of her baby, but Eden is afraid of the possible risks for the foetus. Scott, who cannot free himself as promised to spend the night with Heather, asks Zack to accompany her to the restaurant. Kelly, who brings Jeffrey back to their home, asks Sophia to stay with her for the night. Behind the window, a man in black armed with a switchblade watches them...

The Major Hamilton is of the benefit that Cain is asleep to slip into his home and hide a towel covered with blood in one of the speakers of the hi-fi system. He then goes to the police station where he recommends to the first lieutenant Boswell to search Cain's home. Later, Cain accepts Lydia's visit and, by searching her bag, discovers that she came to see him with a revolver. While she tells Cruz the new nightmare concerning the rapist overnight, Eden feels the baby move for the first time. In the grip of new doubts as for his real fatherhood, Cruz asks her to undergo an amniocentesis. In the Orient express, in spite of the accusatory comments from Mark the maître d'hôtel, Victoria invites to the table the Major Hamilton whom she considers innocent of any crime. She later joins Sophia's table and Eden asks her for permission to see Chip. Julia joins them and asks Eden to be her matron-of-honour. Arthur Donnelly visits his son and speaks about a young patient, Eliott Larson, a homosexual and seropositive, distant with his parents. Michael agrees to go to the hospital to meet him. When Cruz arrives back home, he finds only Victoria with Chip. When he tries to dissuade her from going to the beach with him and Chip, Victoria is hurt and leaves. Gina is comforted by Bunny who has a dance with her to Al Johnson when Sonny leaves and complains about the money which she had promised him, without that he will return to Las Vegas. He then goes to a bar where Mickey offers him a game of poker. Not only does Sonny lose all the money, but is now more than 20 000-dollar in debt...

Mark, the maitre d' of the Orient Express, will not reappear in the series before 1989.
Bart Braverman, who plays Mickey in this episode and the following one, will also come back in 1989 to play another character, Arturo.

Abruptly Cain shows Lydia to the door of his home. Lydia tells Vic Boswell that Cain is about to leave the city. Discovering marks of fingers on her arm, Vic understands that Cain assaulted her and decides to search his home. In the presence of Cruz, he discovers the towel with the initials of Eden hidden by Phillip Hamilton. Sonny explains to Gina that he got into debt in the poker game and that he signed a deed of his debts in the name of... Sonny Sprocket! He persuades Bunny so that he confronts Mickey in a poker game to recover the money. Arthur Donnelly invites his children to have dinner in the Orient express in an attempt to be reconciled with them. But the meal takes place once again with conflicts. Called to the police station, Eden recognises the towel which she had used to clean her wounds the day of rape. After Sonny asks him to be his witness in the marriage, C.C. walks Sophia back home to the hotel room. But once in, she is attacked by a concealed man...

At the end of episode, Sophia is in the dark with her attacker while at the beginning of the following episode, her room is mysteriously normally lighted...

Sophia succeeds in getting out of her room, but the rapist draws her away in the neighbouring room. C.C., who came back to see her, calls the police and launches his chase into the hotel. When he finds them, the rapist, hearing the police sirens, has just run away leaving Sophia on the ground, safe and sound. Back at home, Cain is attacked by two policemen who pull him over to stop him. Hurt, he runs away to Eden's. Eden has just learnt that the towel was found at Cain's house and does not succeed in hiding the fright in front of him. Cruz and the police arrive when Cain assaults Eden to persuade her of his innocence. In the hospital Michael meets Eliott Larson, his father's patient. But he does not manage to persuade him to re-contact his parents. For his part, Scott suspects the Capwell firm to be at the origin of the cancer which killed three employees in succession. But Heather recommends to deepen his research before levelling other accusations. In the Lockridge residence, Sonny and Gina discuss the ceremony once again when they hear a knock: it is Augusta Lockridge back, in Santa Barbara for her sister's marriage. She gives 1000 dollars to Gina to remain asleep in one of the rooms. With Sonny, Augusta then visits Julia. She asks her if she is happy and Julia does not seem sure of herself...

Julia is attacked with questions from Augusta on reports linking Mason with Gina. As Cain abandons the idea of having a lawyer, he is questioned face to face by Cruz. Cruz pushes him to the limit to define if he is the rapist. Cain admits still being in love with Eden, but claims to be unable to harm her. In the corridor of the police station, Lydia confirms to Eden that she is persuaded of the innocence of Cain. Still under the impact of her attack, Sophia agrees to spend the night with C.C.. Both are surprised in the gazebo by Augusta, who tells them that a suspect was apprehended by the police. C.C. and Sophia also refuse to believe in the guilt of Cain. At Gina's, Augusta meets Bunny who congratulates her on the dresses. The evening arrives; Cruz takes Eden at Carmelo Fiorentino, a cabinetmaker recommended by his uncle Guillermo. He surprises her with a baby's cot handcrafted by Carmelo...

Kelly recognises the voice of Cain on a recording which Vic Boswell gets her to listen to and indicates him as her attacker. Boswell rejoices by announcing that Cain is finally indicted with murder. Lydia, in a rage after Boswell refused the interview which he had promised her, speaks to Cruz about her suspicion concerning Phillip Hamilton. C.C. and Sophia decide to lead their own investigation and begin by going to Pop's Place, a bar close to the rapist's hideaway. As it is the place where they saw each other secretly at the time when C.C. was still married to Pamela, Sophia begins recollecting her memories there. Trying to find the address of Eliott Larson, Victoria makes a mistake by directly calling his father. She goes even to the point of visiting him and announces that his son is dying. Heather is starting a study on criminal behaviours and is called to study the case of Cain. But she is scared by his behaviour. In the evening, she is comforted by Scott and decides to encourage him to follow the inquiry into the workers of the Capwell firm who died of cancer. While Cain is locked up in his cell, Cruz and Eden accept a call from the rapist who arranges to meet Eden...

Don Matheson, who plays Frank Larson in this episode and both following ones, played the role of Kelly's doctor in 1986.
The front-door Frank Larson's home appears to resemble to the one of the Lockridge residence. It is more remarkable as all the scenes between Frank and Victoria take place exclusively in front of it.
