Woman approaching fifty, now remarried, Morgan Malone's ex-wife is an indirect victim of the explosion of the Capwell oil rig in 1982. Today, still wounded by this tragedy that hit her and her husband, she lives in fear of something.

One day her fears take consistency with the call of Maggie Gillis. Although she cut short the phone conversation, she sees Maggie and Warren Lockridge coming at her home. Her attitude changes when she realizes that the woman in front of her is the wife of Ben Gillis, her ex-husband's friend. Unable to receive them in the apartment she occupies with her second husband, she gives them an appointment at La Mesa.

At La Mesa, she has only a few minutes to give them, her current husband not wanting to hear about Morgan. She answers Maggie and Warren's questions. If they were married in 1982, at the time of the accident, today they are divorced and she has no more news of Morgan. For a while, she received several letters, all posted from different places, and only knows that he changed his name. She explains to them that after the accident, his personality completely changed, he became moody and always ready to let his anger explode. Severely burned at his hand, he did not want to do anything or to go out. One day, feeling sick and tired, she left him for a few days and, on her return, Morgan had disappeared with all their belongings.

Of course, as she confirms it, the money following the accident was a strong element of discord. Morgan had always told her that they would not need to work, but she never saw the color of that money. Even if she once saw a check, she cannot specify the amount and the name of the donor.

Mrs. Malone leaves Maggie and Warren hastily, wishing them good luck in their war against the Capwell Enterprises.
