Most tasteless storyline : the pigeon puffs

The pun is intended here, folks. Not only did the pigeon puffs taste strange to members of the Lockridge who ate them, but the whole storyline left a bad taste in our mouths as well. Sweet revenge is nothing new on the soaps. But what were Augusta's motives when she sought a revenge as cruel as killing her daughter Laken's pet pigeon, then serving it to the family for hors d'oeuvres ? It really made us wonder what she was thinking, or better yet, what were the writers thinking ? Okay, so Mrs Lockridge was upset with her daughter for falling in love with Ted Capwell. It's no secret the Lockridges and the Capwells have been feuding for years. But Augusta's actions were warped. Interestingly, Augusta has not shown this type of neurotic behavior since. Could it be possible that the Santa Barbara writers got the message ?

Most funny couple : Augusta and Lionel Lockridge

Augusta is a woman whose best friend is her Doberman Pincher, Breeze. She gets her kicks by serving pigeon puffs to her family and making love to a convicted murder. Lionel is the type of man who gets drunk and staggers over the local graveyard to sing to his dead mistress, and likes to hunt for missing treasures. Needless to say, these two are originals, and one must possess a hearty sense of humor when watching them on Santa Barbara. The Lockridges are very cat and mouse, constantly denying their love for one another, and flirting with anyone else. But when they finally do get together... Watch out ! They're as much fun in the bedroom as they are out. When Lionel gets an idea in his head (like the time he created a love potion for Augusta to drink) he goes with it all the way. Though it seems like they can't live with (or without) each other, they really wouldn't have their relationship any other way.

Mrs. Robinson award : Augusta Lockridge

Across the country, in Santa Barbara, the perennially repressed Augusta Lockridge took one look at well muscled Joe Perkins and decided that she could give the ex-con some chores to do around her house. Said chores always required Joe to remove his shirt, which prompted many hungry stares and licking of chops by Augusta. Eventually, Perkins got the point and visited Augusta's bed. But when Kelly Capwell returned to his life, Perkins removed himself from Augusta's reach, leaving her to fool around with hubby Lionel. Lionel being the kind of guy to whom grabbing his wife's behind constitutes foreplay. Don't you think they deserve each other ?
