Special awards
Marcy Walker on the way for a new Daytime Emmy award !

It is on May 18 that will take place the 28th ceremony of Daytime Emmy awards destinated to the programs aired during the day. It is amusing to seek each year among the nominated ones the former actors of Santa Barbara now reconverted into other soap-operas.

This year, only one star of the show received the first honor of the nomination, and it is Marcy Walker herself ! The ex-Eden of Santa Barbara competes indeed for the Emmy award of the outstanding lead actress for her role of Liza Colby Chandler in All My Children. Her competitors are Julia Barr and Susan Lucci (both also from All My Children), Martha Byrne (from As the World Turns) and Susan Flannery (from The Bold and The Beautiful), winner of the trophy last year. One can only cross the fingers for Marcy, already proud holder of an Emmy award for her role of Eden in 1989. The ceremony will be aired on live in NBC.

Vote Nancy Lee Grahn !

Like each year, the Soap Opera Digest Award organized by the famous American magazine Soap Opera Digest (as its name says !) will closely follow the Daytime Emmy awards. The particularity of these trophies rewarding exclusively soap-operas is that they are decreed by the readers of the magazine, therefore the fans themselves. And this year, you can yourself vote by internet, at this address : http://soapawards.about.com. The winners of the previous year being able to be elected again this year, we are pleased to find Nancy Lee Grahn nominated for the outstanding supporting actress for her character of Alexis Davis in General Hospital ! Even if Nancy indeed already gained the trophy last year, nothing goes against a second victory this year ! Therefore go on your keyboards and vote ! You have for that until May 17 at midnight (American schedule).

Stories of contracts Santa Barbara in France

Revolution on TF6 !

Nothing goes right any more on TF6 : since last 30 April, the cabled channel decided not only to push back the airing of Santa Barbara at 08h10 a.m., but also to air only one half of episode per day !!
It is still time to react and try to be hear by the channel : why to continue to cut the episodes of Santa Barbara in two parts and to suddenly air just one half per day ? Santa Barbara deserves to be aired in its original duration, especially if one wants to know the end of it before the next decade ! Make us being hear, the channel can still reconsider its decision !

Joseph Mascolo leaves Days of our Lives

More known for his character of Stefano Dimera (that he plays with intermittency since 1982), than for the one of the gangster Carlo Alvarez in 1985 in Santa Barbara (do you remember, pursuing Dylan in his treasure hunt ?!), Joseph Mascolo turns a page of his career by giving up the soap Days of our Lives this month in the United States. A casting has been launched right now to find a successor in the role as of this summer...

Special week
The chance turns for Kim Zimmer

This first week of May has been marked for the soap-operas fans in the United States by the tournament of the stars in Wheel of Fortune !

From April 30 to May 04, fifteen actors of soaps came to clash around the famous wheel and of the gifts carrousel, as wants it the annual tradition. Monday April 30 appeared thus Kim Zimmer (Jodie Walker in Santa Barbara), while waiting between others Joseph Mascolo (see above) on Thursday 03. A great occasion to have fun and... to gain what redecorate ones living-room !  : -)
