Robin Mattson leaves All My Children... forced !

That is current March that Robin Mattson (Gina Blake DeMott Capwell Timmons Lockridge) learned that her contract in the soap All My Children will not be renewed this year. Robin will thus have to give up her character of Janet that she played since 1994, on May, 9th. The reason of this dismissal was not spread, but it is true that Robin played since a too long time the extras, without being able to fully emphasize the talents of actress that the fans of Santa Barbara know from her...

The sixteenth ceremony of the Soap Opera Digest Awards, of which the name of the nominated ones had been revealed on this page a few months ago, rewarded many former actors of Santa Barbara : first of all Nancy Lee Grahn (Julia Wainwright) had been elected best outstanding supporting actress for her character of Alexis in General Hospital; Kim Zimmer (Jodie Walker) saw herself given the award of the best outstanding lead actress for the character of Reva in Guiding Light; and Jon Lindstrom (Dr. Mark McCormick) was appointed better outstanding supporting actor for the character of Kevin in Port Charles.

The Soap Opera Digest Awards are often compared to a kind of repetition before the Daytime Emmys, more recognized by the profession. The ceremony of the Emmys which will take place on next 19 May will be retransmitted by the network NBC. Among the nominated ones one finds for the best outstanding supporting actor : Timothy Gibbs (Dash Nichols) for his character of Kevin Buchanan in the soap One Life to Live and for the best outstanding supporting actress is again nominated Nancy Lee Grahn, who thus knows a certain dedication this year... The Swedish fans of Santa Barbara, frustrated to never have been able to appreciate the last seasons of the show, are in effervescence : the channel TV4 has decided to re-run Santa Barbara since the very first episode since last 23 March ! Thus each day of the week at 12.10 a.m., the whole Sweden lives again the output of prison of Joe Perkins, the love disappointments between Ted and Laken, the first confrontations between Mason and C.C....

Two Swedish fans of Santa Barbara had the good idea to create a site entirely devoted to the return of the show in their country : SåpaCentralen Santa Barbara. To live again in texts and pictures the beginnings of this soap obviously immortal !
