The
Perkins, a family with the modest incomes (John works for the Capwell industries
and Marisa at Lyman high school canteen), live in Santa Barbara in the middle of
a residential and popular district of the city.
Of their house, we only know the
living room :
a central room in which we find
a blue sofa, in the center a round table and a
fireplace in bricks.
At
the left of the room, we find two doors. The first one, in wood, allows to go to
the kitchen. The glass door with a lacy curtain gives access to Joe's old
bedroom,
which will be transformed into a nursery for Amy's baby.
A staircase leads to the
floor, where is set the girls' bedroom (Amy and Jade), mainly
become Jade's bedroom at Amy's departure.
The house will
partially explode during the first episodes, following Joe's come-back.
It will also be the terrible place of a hostage-taking by
Peter Flint, which will conclude by the death of Joe and Peter in 1985.
In
spite of the absence of Marisa and Jade, Amy will continue to live the house
with Brick, her fiancé then husband. The decoration of the house will be
slightly modified (change of the color of the sofa among others). Brick will be later the only one
to live the house after the death of Amy in 1986.
