In early 1988, Mason Capwell buys for his mother Pamela an opulent house, which is not going to create some tension with his half-brother Jeffrey Conrad whom he had not consulted.
Upon crossing the front door, we must descend a few steps to enter the lounge. A large rounded stone fireplace imposes its presence in the center of the room. A sofa is installed perpendicular to the front door, just before a series of horizontal metal bars to prevent bad falls from the steps.
After the fireplace, a door gives access to the rest of the house, probably the kitchen and the bedroom. At the back of the room, a bar is overhung by a large mirror with a rounded shape.
Pamela will spend only a few months in this house, during which she will temporarily host C.C. Capwell, her first husband, on the occasion of the resumption of their affair.
Pamela's departure in the summer of 1988 will however not ring the definitive disappearance of the residence, since in spring 1989, the house is purchased and inhabited by new arrivals in town, Laura and Ethan Asher. Some modifications are then made to the main room. First, the most visible : the entrance door becomes white, and the famous horizontal bars separating the lounge entrance undergo a rather curious and unsightly deformation.
The Ashers' white sofa thrones, as for it, in the center of the room, and not on the side anymore.
Finally, is presented to us a recess of the main room on the right of the entrance, with closet doors.
The decoration is also subject to Laura and Ethan's taste for art (Laura is a high school principal, Ethan is a district attorney) : statuettes of exotic origin and valuables objects are exposed. And a desk is positioned at the entrance of the living room, which is essential to Ethan's activity.
In 1990, we finally discover the bathroom of the house, when Annie DeGeralamo tries to electrocute Ethan there.
