Country-club Santa Barbara |

In
the spring of 1988, C.C. Capwell decides to invest in the construction of a
Country-club in Santa Barbara. Associated despite his will to Pamela Conrad, his
first wife, C.C. meets immediately the opposition of environmental movements,
represented by Andrea Bedford and Cain Garver. But the justice authorizes the
construction works despite the obvious damage to the environment which will
result. Opened a few months later, the place serves as a meeting club for the
Santa Barbara high society, came to have lunch, to drink, or to play sports
(tennis, golf, swimming...).
The
Country-club marks its standing by his imposing setting close to a castle set.

The
Country-club is regularly used by C.C. Capwell for hosting parties : the costume
ball of 1988 (which will be the place for Andrea Bedford's death), the
celebration of his retirement or of his birthday, the departure of Ted Capwell
in 1989, the charity event organized for the re-election as a mayor of Jerry
Calhoun, etc...
A large terrace outside the room allows to take some fresh air during receptions, and to stay away from the clients for some more intimate conversations.

then Emily DiNapoli as waitresses, respectively in 1988 and 1989.
The Country-club will never be as popular as the other meeting places of the characters in the show, such as The Orient Express or, at the same time, The Lair. It will gradually disappear from the screen in the course of 1990, before the C.C. does not launch himself in a new adventure somewhat similar in 1990, with the Oasis...
