On August 12 2013, Erin Moore agreed to take on her time to answer exclusively the questions of Santa Barbara : le site Francais. The actress talks about her young years on Santa Barbara as Samantha Capwell, and of her life since the end of the show.

The time of Santa Barbara

At first, I'd like you to tell us a little about you : how old are you today ? Where do you live ?

I am 26 years old, and I live in New York City.

How did you come to play Samantha in Santa Barbara in 1988 ?

My twin sister Caitlin and I auditioned for the part of Samantha to replace the girl who was originally cast.

In your first years on the show, you shared the part of Samantha with your twin sister, Caitlin. How was it organised ? Did you make entire episodes on your own or were you switched with your sister in the middle of some scenes ?

I don't remember too well how things were organized in that way, but I think it varied. In general, we would take turns by day, but we were both available if someone needed to switch in the middle of a scene or an episode.

In 1991, your sister Caitlin left the show, and you remained the only one to play Samantha. What was the reason of that ?

The reason that Caitlin left the show is that in 1991 we turned four years old, at which point the producers only needed one twin.

What remembrances do you keep from these years ? How was it to play opposite to Nancy Lee Grahn or the different actors who played Mason ?

Over the years, I really fondly remember playing opposite the different actors I worked with, and interacting with everyone on and off set. I felt very close to my TV family, and loved getting to see them ! There are certain scenes I remember so vividly, like opening Christmas presents, or coloring wedding invitations, or watching Julia and Mason from the stairs. I also remember little things backstage, like drinking orange juice and playing the piano in the green room, or my dad buying us candy from the vending machine, which though they seem so small now, were so exciting to us as such little girls.

Did you keep in touch with some members of the team after the end of the show ?

After the end of the show, we did keep in touch a bit with some of the cast members, like Nancy and Gordon. Life continues on, though, so it has been quite some time since I've been in touch with anyone !

These 20 last years after Santa Barbara and now

Did you continue acting after Santa Barbara ? And what you're doing now ?

I did continue acting, mostly in theatre in Los Angeles. I'm not acting at the moment, but working for the National Theatre of Great Britain in their New York office.

Is there something you'd like to say to all the Santa Barbara fans all over the world who didn't forget you as Samantha ?

I'd love to let all the Santa Barbara fans know that I really appreciate their love of the show ! It was such an important part of my life, and something I'll cherish forever, and it is so wonderful to know that it was something that they loved as well.

Once again all my thanks to Erin Moore for her time and her sweet memories of the show.
