The Perkins family

The Perkins family lives in a small detached house in a popular district of the city, where John and Marisa raise their three children, teaching them sharing and respect. The family lives simply : John works on oil rigs (happy to have found a certain stability further to his hiring within the Capwell Enterprises after a period of unemployment) and Marisa at Lyman high school. Jade is John's pearl, Joe (the first born son) is Marisa's pride, and Amy builds up to herself a very independent personality.

Schooled at Lyman prep, the Perkins children rub shoulders with the others of the powerful families of the town. They will know how to be accepted by them, in particular by the Capwell and Lockridge children, without however forgetting their origin : Joe's best friend is not another than Cruz Castillo. A sincere friendship binds Jade with Laken and with Ted; as for Joe, it is love that he finds in the arms of the youngest of the Capwell daughters. This idyll marks the beginning of the end in John's opinion, and it is this love, condemned in advance, that will be at the origin of the explosion of the family unit. When Joe will be arrested and judged guilty for the murder of Channing Capwell Junior, John and Marisa will tear up to the point of no return.

Marisa, cornerstone of the family, fights in spite of everyone to maintain the family united : she opposes firmly to her husband (incapable to see in Joe the inheritance they transmitted him), convinced of the soundness of his choices. It is again as an affectionate mother that she welcomes Joe after his release from prison, that she supports him in his quest of the real murderer, that she supports him to reconquer Kelly's heart. It is still as an affectionate mother that she welcomes Amy and her mysterious pregnancy (happy to become a grandmother), and it is always as an affectionate mother that she forgives Jade's most crazy dreams. And it is as an accommodating wife that she knows how to find the strength of love at the time of John's death, during the earthquake.

This first death will be unfortunately only the first one of a long list : Joe at first, and then Amy. Only Marisa and Jade will survive the many dramas.
