Almost exclusively a feminine family with the exception of Mack, the Blake family is the family of all the paradoxes and all the opposite. The Blakes combines fire and ice, good and evil, right and bad between its various members and even very often within only one person.

Central and major character of this family, Gina is its perfect symbol, because she represents on her own all the multiple facets of this family which does not miss either resources or surprises. Gina is at the same time lie, deceit and manipulation, but also a mother for Brandon's eyes, a woman in a distraught quest of professional and personal recognition and of love, naturally. Of course, as every Blake, she justifies each of her evil deeds by imputing the fault to the others : she had no other possible choices, no other outcomes than to follow this road.

Due to their nature, the Blakes always hide their real feelings in their relationships, fearing to come to light too much. Instead of it, they too often prefer to make a commitment in bad relations rather than to follow the simpler ways in healthy relations. And it is only when they find their alter ego that they give free rein to the madness inside of them : the most beautiful example is certainly the pair Gina and Keith Timmons.

Curiously, this family presents among its members the perfect opposite of Gina or Phyllis, almost touched by grace or by kindness. It is the case of Summer or Hayley. And very often, these members have to deny a part of their convictions to support their opposite ones. Lily is the perfect symbol of this bipolarity within this family of the most surprising and of the most eccentric. A leitmotiv is however passed on parents to children : it is Phyllis' message to Gina, Gina's to Hayley and to Lily : to marry a rich man. In this little game, Gina turns out to be a perfect student with two marriages with C.C. Capwell and one with Lionel Lockridge !
