Episode 490

Cruz leaves Eden at the beach bar after making her understand that he doesn't intend to end his marriage. Santana sees them talking. She joins Cruz at the beach home and speaks about divorce. After hearing Cruz's promises, she decides to give their marriage a chance. While they get ready to make love, Sophia tells C.C. about her breast cancer. Affected by this, C.C. doesn't know how to act and promises her that he won't act with pity for her. Mason is shocked by what he has just learnt from Mark. He gets drunk and goes to the Capwell villa, where he argues once again with his father about Grant's affair. Augusta and Lionel go back to the Lockridge villa and explain to Minx that they are there thanks to Grant. Mason joins them and explains to Grant that he managed to find no proof that can accuse C.C. for the stolen money from the Capwells. He finds Mary finally in the private hospital. He claims to be disappointed, before Mary succeeds in telling him that Mark raped her in fact...

Episode 491

Mary explains to Mason what happened with Mark. Mason encourages her to lodge a complaint. He goes to the Orient Express and hits Mark violently. In revenge, Mark threatens Mary and Mason to oppose her divorce. Courtney dresses up as a man to visit Pearl in the asylum. Pearl begins rallying other patients into the plan, including Owen, his neighbour, and Alice, Kelly's roommate. Sophia and C.C. wake up together. C.C. has the idea of organising a big celebration on July 4th. He visits Kelly at the asylum, who pleads them to take her back with them. Lionel discovers that Sophia and C.C. spent the night together. By accident, he tells Sophia that it was him who first spoke about the cancer. Disgusted, Sophia finds C.C. and asks him if he slept with her only by pity...

Episode 492

C.C. throws a party to celebrate July 4th. Eden confesses to her mother that she also knew about her cancer. C.C. and Sophia are in the room and, as a sign of abatement, he asks her to marry him. As Hayley doesn't dare to go to the party with Ted, he goes there with Jane instead. But Hayley changes her mind and joins them, at Jane's great displeasure. Gina is invited by Keith. Cruz asks him for an explanation about Santana. In the asylum, Pearl organises a plan to dope the guard nurse and deliver the dinner to celebrate July 4th. Having laughed and danced, Kelly, Alice and other patients throw balls filled with painting against a wall to imitate a firework. But Owen misses his target and throws his ball on a nurse! While the fireworks begin, Eden and Cruz meet in the beach bar. They dance together to the music on the jukebox...

Episode 493

C.C. re-asks Sophia about his proposal. Sophia tells him that she doesn't feel ready, but agrees to continue going out with him. On the radio, Ted receives two calls from Roxanne, who proves to be more and more pressing. Cruz tells Eden that he is investigating Keith's old affair at the time when he was the assistant prosecutor, in the course of which evidence mysteriously disappeared. Keith gives a mission to Cruz regarding immigrants to watch. Keith walks Eden back home after the celebration and tries to entice her. Mary talks with Mark, who decides to oppose the divorce. She confides in Mother Isabel, fearing having asked for a divorce and having to leave the Church. She announces her decision to Mason. Mason tells her that he is going to try himself to lodge a complaint against Mark for rape...

Episode 494

Dr Rawlings discovers the damage caused by the party was organised by Pearl. He gets him tested and suspects him of faking his insanity. Pearl speaks about his brother with Kelly. Lionel entrusts Augusta that the pictures which he gave to her during their divorce and what she sold to C.C. are copies. Mason has Mark arrested for Mary's rape. Mark immediately asks Julia to defend him. She asks him to tell her the truth before deciding if she will be his lawyer. Mark swears to her that he never raped Mary. Mason asks Mary to testify in the presence of Julia. Julia believes Mary, but decides to agree to defend Mark. She explains to Augusta that her purpose is to give him the worst possible defence...

Episode 495

Kelly arranges to get Dr Rawlings out of the office so that Pearl could search through his archives. He finds a file in there in the name of his brother Brian, with a letter referring to his intentions. Eden demands that Lionel pays at the Orient Express. Trying to attain C.C., Lionel asks for Brick's assistance so that he gets information from him about Eden's past in Europe. But Brick refuses to help him, just as Gina refuses. Cruz learns from his colleague Paul that he suspects his team mate Alvarez of being the one who pulled him over during a police operation. Keith has a weapon valued which he received that was found during a shooting to exonerate Alvarez. Gina records an advertising campaign for her cookies on the Capwell Hotel roof. But she forgets the words of her song. She has the idea of lighting the new sign which C.C. had installed, but one of the technicians is almost electrocuted. As Santana pushes back his advances, Keith becomes established at a table at the Orient Express with Eden. He accompanies her on the roof to repair the electrical problem caused by the short-circuiting of the sign, and uses it to kiss her. Guided by Gina, Cruz finds them there. He recommends to Eden to pay attention to her company, but Eden refuses to listen to him...

Episode 496

Courtney dresses up in a blonde wig to visit Pearl in the asylum. Pearl tells her that he found letters from his brother which proves that he wasn't suicidal as Dr Rawlings had made him believe. Ted visits Kelly and gives her a radio so that she could listen to him. Hayley makes him say that he likes her. Immediately, Roxanne phones the radio station and arranges to meet Ted in a cinema on State Street. Ted goes there, but he changes his mind after arriving and leaves again. Kelly thinks of Joe. She and Pearl mourn their grief in the arms of one another. Julia draws Mark away for his trial which is going to begin. Mark already complains to have lost his job as a doctor in the Caribbean. He discovers that Julia has no strategy. Mason makes Mary repeat her story. But she insists to drop the charges against Mark. Mason refuses and persists...

Episode 497

Cruz and Paul leave for the stash of underground Mexican immigrants, but the place is empty. Cruz is persuaded that their colleague Alvarez told them. They trap him and make him confess: Alvarez, in lack of money, was indeed corrupted by El Blanco. Cruz asks him to leave the police. Alvarez phones Keith to tell him and Eden answers the call, which he leaves the number. Keith finds Eden searching his files. He contacts Alvarez and asks him not to contact him anymore. Eden goes back to Keith's office and pretends to drop her handbag to recover the telephone number left by Alvarez. Keith is of benefit that she is on her knees to kiss her. At Mary's request, Julia sends for Mark to meet in the Orient Express so that they discuss the trial. They go up on the roof to be quiet. Mark agrees to abandon his rights to Mary's baby, but still refuses to admit that he raped her. Julia joins them and tries to get them to leave because of the wind. While Mason arrives, a gust of wind takes the new "C " sign down which falls towards Mary...

Episode 498

Hayley and Ted spend a romantic evening and make love for the first time. Eden leaves Keith and goes to find Cruz to announce her discovery. Santana, a jealous woman finding Eden in Cruz's office, has a new stage of jealousy. Keith gives Santana the key to his flat. He entices her and they make love in his office. On the roof of the Capwell Hotel, Mary is crushed under the "C" sign. Julia and Mark clear her from it. Mason runs up by her side. Mary just has the time to think of her baby and to say that she isn't afraid, before dying in Mason's arms. Help arrives, but nothing can save Mary. A priest comes to give the last blessing. Violently, Mason keeps Mark from leaving with Mary and the ambulance drivers. C.C. and Cruz even have to prevent him from choking Mark. All the Capwells meet in the villa, and Julia tells them about Mary's last minutes. Eden joins Mason in the gazebo and tries to comfort him...

Episode 499

Dr Rawlings places Kelly under hypnosis and questions her about the evening of Dylan's death. Kelly remembers Dylan and thinks to have killed him. But she continues merging him with Peter. Courtney goes to the asylum and insists that Pearl leaves again with her. Pearl is allowed to be persuaded. But at the time of leaving Kelly, facing distress, he decides to stay, much to Courtney's displeasure. Ted arrives to search for Mason at home for Mary's funeral. Mark joins them there to take a dress for Mary. He tells Mason that he has just learnt that they have the same blood group and that it would have been impossible to know who the father of the baby was. Mason already knew. In the church, Mason makes his last goodbyes to Mary. At Julia's arrival, he criticises her heatedly for having defended Mark. He goes on the roof of the Capwell Hotel, and then goes back to the church for the end of the ceremony. There, he accuses C.C., Julia and Mark to be responsible for Mary's death and a threat of retaliation...
