Episode 40

Veronica tells Lionel about her confrontation the day before with Mason when Mason arrives. Lionel hides behind a fence in Veronica's garden and listens to their discussion. Mason confesses to indeed be fearful that Lionel will let his father listen to the tape recorder. He promises however that he will succeed in losing Lockridge definitely. Mason just leaves, then Peter arrives at Veronica's. He accuses her of having delivered the tape to Lionel and of working secretly for him. Veronica swears this is not true and that Lionel undoubtedly stole one of the copies of recording from the office, without her knowing. Satisfied by this explanation, Peter goes to Lionel and offers to form an alliance with him to bring Mason down. But Lionel refuses any consent. C.C. invites Santana to visit with him neglected corners of Santa Barbara. At the high school Lyman, Mr Bottoms forms couples in Jade, Laken and Danny's class, to teach them the sense of responsibilities. He threatens Ted to send him to a military academy if he continues acting like a spoilt child by his father.  Joe discovers a newspaper article relating the confiscation of Sophia Wayne, the former spouse of C.C. Capwell, at the hotel of Yucca Dunes in 1960. Moreover, he still wonders who can be this famous "L.L". she wrote. Back home, he learns by his mother that Kelly passed to see him earlier during the day. Excited with happiness, he thinks of her and invites her to join him at home. Joe succeeds in making Kelly say that she is not very sure of his guilt anymore concerning the murder of Channing Jr...

Episode 41

Jade, Laken, Danny and Ted decide to buy an old abandoned hotel and to repair it. In The Mesa, by seeing Lionel and Warren at the neighbouring table, Joe rethinks the initials "L.L ".  But he refutes the idea that it could be those of Lionel Lockridge. For his part, Lionel announces to his son that he lost the property at the beach by auction. C.C. learns that Gina DeMott, the widow of one of his old friends, is located in one of the rooms of the Capwell hotel with her son. He asks Peter to ensure that she is afterwards transferred to the presidential suite. While he tries to reach Santana, Veronica informs him that she is with Peter at the Capwell hotel which she is re-decorating. C.C. rushes into the front entrance of the presidential suite and urges Santana to leave again with him. But suddenly the lift opens and Gina and the small Brandon get out, they acquaint themselves with Peter and Santana. Santana is moved to meet a boy of the same age as a son whom she was forced to give up. Joe drives Kelly to the stash where he has appointment with Dominic. Dominic, on Joe's orders, repeats the real circumstances of the death of Channing Jr: Joe and he were in the corridor when a gunshot blared from Channing's office. When entering the office, Channing was on the floor. Kelly, who had remained hidden, then shows herself to Dominic and encourages him to follow this search of the truth on the death of her brother...

Episode 42

Peter goes to the Capwell residence in search of Kelly. He only finds Mason there, who tells him that she is with Joe at this moment. Mason then complacent to treat Peter as a finished man, who does not have a future anymore with the Capwells. Santana and C.C. speak about the past and finish up in bed. At the beach bar, Warren asks his father about the era with Sophia Capwell. Lionel tells him that they have never had a relationship and that this history belongs to the past. By going back home, Peter is surprised by two men who tie him up and gag him on a chair. A big black woman, Ginger, then appears who seems to know longstanding Peter. It proves to be that at that time known as Antonio, Peter was a gigolo in Miami for Ginger. Meantime, Kelly goes to Peter's and tells him that she met a witness who can exonerate Joe. Trying to listen to their discussion, Peter tells her that he approves her new friendship with Joe. Kelly again leaves happy, going to Ginger and her men. Ginger claims 250 000 dollars from Peter without revealing her past with the Capwells. By going back home, Dominic begins taking off his clothes, then the beard which proves to be a fake. It seems that Dominic is in fact a woman...

Episode 43

C.C. gives Santana a bracelet belonging to the family. He then invites her to his birthday party, where he plans to make the official announcement of their relationship. She uses this to approach the subject of her son by revealing to him that Joe and Cruz know about his existence. C.C. tells her that he will do everything to protect her son. By asking him when he attended the party, Mason understands that his father has a new baby-friend. At the high school Lyman, Danny is confronted with Michael Adams, a schoolmate of Jade, Laken and Ted, whose team is going to play football. The band of four then has an appointment in the Capwell residence with an estate agent about the purchase of the hotel. But the agent demands that an adult signs the bill of sale. Joe asks Kelly for information on Sophia, notably on his reports with Lionel. But Kelly knows nothing. Joe then goes to Dominic and searches his flat. He finds female underwear there and thinks that Dominic has a woman when, suddenly, Domenic comes back accidentally and surprises him. Peter visits Kelly and encourages her to go to the city with him. But Kelly refuses, preferring continuing working with her dressmaker on the dress for C.C.'s birthday. When the dressmaker comes back into the room, Peter is surprised to see Ginger...

Episode 44

Joe leaves Dominic's by having stolen a card mentioning Beacon house in Anchorage in Alaska. With the help of Kelly, he discovers that it is a psychiatric asylum. While Mason prepares his birthday present for C.C. (the act of property at the beach), Lionel envelops his: a tape recorder on which is written "Listen To Me". C.C. offers Gina to give her a holiday to help her recover after the death of her husband. At this moment, afterwards at the presidential suite, Summer Blake, the sister of Gina, has come to visit her. She seems interested by the perspective to stay a while in Santa Barbara with her. Peter goes to Augusta and asks her for 250 000 dollars which Ginger wants. He promises her to return it to her once Kelly will be married to him. And yet having seen Kelly and Joe leading their investigation into the true murderer of Channing Jr, Augusta proves to be uncertain facing the possibility of a marriage between Peter and Kelly. She refuses therefore to help him and shows Peter the door. She then joins Warren at the beach bar, where he tries to flirt with Summer, and informs him that Kelly and Joe are on the track of the murderer of Channing Jr. She says to him that they suspect the representative for the break-in which took place a few days before the drama to also be the murderer. Warren urges to come back home and opens a chest in which is lined up of press cutting relating to the break-in. He burns them in the chimney. By arriving home, Peter finds Ginger and her men viewing a tape of the achievement of Peter with his customers of that era. Mad with rage, Peter destroys the tape, but Ginger promises to still have full copies...

Episode 45

Augusta is concerned about the inquiry into Kelly and Joe. Augusta, who is in possession of gold coins stolen from the Capwells, gets into contact with Rudy, the representative for a dry-cleaner's, and asks him if he keeps records of his transactions. Minx, who was seen out by the police having tried to force her way into the property at the beach, learns from Lionel that the residence belongs to the Capwells from now on. In a hopeless situation, Peter asks Mason if he could lend him the money which he needs, saying that his father needs it as an excuse. Mason ends up accepting if, in exchange, Peter succeeds in returning Joe who is in prison. Peter does not need more time to go to Joe's garage to hide a sachet of cocaine under the seat of his motorbike. Santana learns from Cruz that he went to Acapulco, to investigate Dr Ramirez. She asks him again to stay. Laken and Ted make a sign for Kelly at their hotel, whilst a private plane flies loudly over the residence. A young blonde woman, who says she is the daughter of C.C., flirts with the pilot. The celebration for C.C.'s birthday finally begins. Mason is surprised at seeing Santana arriving and wonders who accompanies her. Noting that it is not Cruz, he discovers at the same time with amazement that it is his own father...

Episode 46

Joe goes to the Anchorage asylum and questions a nurse and patients about Dominic, whose photo he shows. A patient admits to seeing Dominic and reveals to Joe that the person whom he searches for is in fact a woman, keen of fancy dresses and of wearing make-up. Warren waits for the nightfall and enters Rudy's dry-cleaner's by breaking-in. While he searches the registers of 1979, he does not realise that the door has just closed behind him, leaving him locked indoors. Eden, the other daughter of C.C., lands with a parachute on the Lockridge property. Welcomed by Warren, she accidentally lands for the holiday of C.C.'s birthday.  C.C opens all the presents: from Santana, Gina and even one from Pamela, his first wife. When he discovers one from Mason, C.C. is in seventh heaven. To thank him, he announces to Mason that he has named him as the field chief legal adviser of Capwell Enterprises. C.C. opens the present from Mason and finds a tape recorder. Mason hastens to grab it from his hands which cause it to fall landing on his foot. But C.C. finds, in a second packet, a copy of a tape. He places the tape into the tape recorder and plays Mason's speech on the inhumanity of his father to all the dumbfounded family. C.C., very irritated, demands an explanation. Mason says Peter needs to admit the voice of his secretary and calls Veronica so that she comes to certify the authenticity of the recording. Pushed by Lionel, Veronica complies. At their arrival and in front of the triumphant Peter, C.C. starts the tape recorder...

Episode 47

Veronica does not admit to the discussion on the tape to help Mason. Peter threatens her with retaliation, but Mason helps Veronica by threatening Peter so she would not be laid off.  C.C. excuses his son for having him "unfairly " suspected.  Peter, who needs to regain the upper hand, makes an anonymous phone call to the police to inform them that some drugs are hidden under the seat of the motorbike belonging to Joe Perkins. The police end up finding the motorbike which had just been used by Jade and Danny to go to the bar at the beach. Mason immediately informs his father that some cocaine was found in Joe's motorbike. Warren sets fire to the archives at Rudy's pawn shop, when he discovers that he is locked inside the blazing room. Fortunately, by an unexplained miracle, he comes out from it some minutes later and gets treatment for his burns by Summer at the beach bar.  Eden calls Cruz and asks him to join her at the Capwell residence. It seems that they already met before this day. Joe is of benefit at night to go back to the Beacon house. He hides Dominic's file, then finds him hiding. He tells him that he knows he is a woman. C.C. asks Kelly to make a choice between his home and the home of Joe Perkins. Kelly chooses Joe's house, packs her suitcases and leaves the residence in the middle of the night. At this moment, Joe goes to see Peter where he thinks he will be able to find Kelly. But when Peter comes back, they are welcomed by Ginger who promises them a lot of troubles...

Episode 48

C.C. asks Cruz to keep a secret about Santana's child. Cruz suggests that he knows what is best for Santana and informs him that he led his investigation in Acapulco. He reveals the fact he knows that the adopted mother of Santana's son is Gina DeMott. Kelly offers to become the new co-tenant of her old friend Sally Taylor, who works at The Mesa. Eden reminds Cruz of their oath according to their history and states that it has to belong to the past, they have to avoid seeing each other again. But Cruz responds saying her place is in Santa Barbara from now on. Lionel invites C.C. and Santana to The Mesa and admits the bracelet is the same one that Sophia wore before her death. Later, he goes to Sophia's grave and makes a declaration of love, without realising that Eden notices him whilst hiding behind a tree. When he finally sees her coming into sight, he thinks she is Sophia. Ginger tells Joe all about Peter's past. Joe calls Kelly to join them at The Mesa. But he uses the cord of the telephone to cause Ginger's goons to fall.  Peter grabs Ginger's revolver and is about to kill her in cold blood when Joe intervenes and lets her go off with her men. Peter thanks Joe for having prevented him from making him look like a fool and offers him a deal: he asks Joe not to reveal anything about his past to Kelly in exchange for letting them freely show their love. Joe accepts and hastens to tell Kelly that he leaves to join her. Without an ounce of remorse, Peter then calls Mason and asks him to send the police to The Mesa on the field, where they will be able to find Joe, what's more armed with a revolver...

Episode 49

The Clairvoyant who works with the policemen goes to The Mesa. Sally calls Kelly but she does not answer, too happy to see Joe arrive home. She explains to him that she has definitely left the family residence when Sally joins them, followed by the police. Joe just manages to run away by arranging to meet Kelly at the beach bar. It is half conscious Lionel who is surprised in his car by Dominic, armed with a gun. He is forced to clear himself in his presence in the Capwell residence on the evening of the death of Channing Jr. Augusta discovers the dinner jacket with evidence which Warren has succeeded in finding in Rudy's pawn shop. She tries to question him to help him, but Warren proves to be reluctant to reveal his secret. Ted, who has walked Laken back home, discovers in the chimney of the Lockridge residence the newspaper cuttings relating to the break-in of the Capwell residence five years ago. When Lionel finally comes back, he is attacked by Augusta who commands him to help her to save Warren. Thanks to a phone call from Peter, Mason succeeds in knowing the meeting point between Kelly and Joe. No sooner Kelly and Joe who are at the beach bar are surprised by the police. Kelly intervenes between Joe and the policemen and allows him to run away towards the beach...
