Episode 30

Joe speaks to Kelly about the business which he found in Channing Jr's room. Kelly then goes to Mason's office and discovers newspaper articles on the death of her brother there. Cruz goes to see Santana, back at home. He kisses her, but Santana pushes him back. She then joins C.C. and tries to fluster him by playing on her similarities with Sophia. Mason arranges to meet Peter's secretary, Veronica Gayley, at the presidential suite of the Capwell hotel. Peter, for his part, learns that the room is in renovation. He asks Richard Adam, one of the employees of the hotel, to install a two-way mirror there. Joe comes to announce to Augusta that he resigns from his job. By seeing them together, Lionel guesses that they were lovers. Peter then tells Augusta about Mason's plans concerning the Lockridge property. Augusta announces this news to Lionel. In Hollywood, while Ted gives a necklace to Laken for proof of his love, Jade is invited to a filming by her producer. By arriving there, she notes that she again lost the way. She calls Danny to rescue her. Danny announces the call from Jade to Peaches Delight and Jake Dodge, who informs Danny about the well-known reputation of Willard Holmby in Hollywood. Danny then rushes to the hotel where the filming of the pornographic film of Jade begins...

Episode 31

Joe visits Cruz at his boathouse and asks him to invite Kelly there so he can meet her privately. Cruz complies and, once Kelly is there, he goes out to leave Joe with her. Joe gives Kelly a ring that he had planned to give her on the anniversary of Channing Jr's death. But Kelly prefers leaving, keeping the ring. Mason leaves Philip to be alone to accept Veronica at the Capwell residence. But Augusta interrupts this brave appointment, by revealing to Mason that she knows the true reasons of his house search in the Lockridge residence. Taken refuge in the neighbouring room, Veronica phones Lionel and informs him about Augusta's visit. So, in her return home, Augusta is surprised at discovering that Lionel knows where she had been. In Hollywood, Danny launches the fire alarm to scare people in front of the hotel room where the porno film with Jade is taking place. He enters the room by breaking-in and runs away with Jade. Holmby and his team take Jade and Danny up to their car, but are surprised by the police, sent there by Jake Dodge. Back sound on the Capwell yacht, Kelly tells Peter that she was at Cruz's. Peter, tired to see her still undecided on this subject, goes out to Cruz's boathouse. There, he is surprised to find Joe there. He then orders him to cease seeing Kelly and to leave the city as quickly as possible...

Episode 32

Joe and Peter fight. The unconscious, Peter is brought back on the Capwell yacht by Joe. Cruz visits Santana and discovers that she has appointment with C.C.. Warren goes to Hollywood and asks Laken to come back to Santa Barbara because he is worried about the situation. Meanwhile, Danny invites Jade to the restaurant. By going out, they meet David Hasselhoff in a phone box. He explains to them that chance is very important to succeed in Hollywood. When arriving back, Jade shows Danny a number of very sexy dance-cabaret shows which puts him in all states... Veronica, who does not know how to free herself anymore from Mason's advances, phones Lionel. He recommends naming the Lockridge to tranquilize his passion surely. Veronica complies and succeeds in bringing back Mason to earth, who agrees to walk her back home. On his return, Mason discovers Santana in the entrance together with his father. Right in the middle of their bedroom filled with candles, Lionel creates a "circle of the truth" where lies are forbidden for Augusta. But while Lionel lies about the identity of the person who has just called him, Augusta returns with the same by swearing not to have slept with Joe. Of benefit that Peter is confined to bed, Kelly goes back to Cruz's boathouse and decides to return the ring to Joe. Once again, she assures him that everything is finished between them. But they end up kissing each other...

Episode 33

Because of the return of classes and in spite of the calls from Willard Holmby, Jade, Laken, Danny and Ted say goodbye to Peaches Delight and Jake Dodge and go back to Santa Barbara. Ted invites his father to have dinner at the beach bar with Laken and her parents. He indeed has important news to be announced to him. Laken tells Augusta and Lionel the same. Veronica reveals to Lionel Mason's plans concerning the property of the beach belonging to Lockridge. Lionel later accepts a phone call from his lawyer who tells him that the residence is about to be put on auction and that the Capwell's are the first on the list of purchasers. To the great displeasure of Cruz, Santana is continuing to charm C.C.. Cruz accepts Peter's visit, then a visit from Augusta, about Joe. Peter then announces to Mason his fears of losing Kelly. He ends up joining her in the Capwell residence and accuses her of still being in love with the murderer of her brother. At this moment, a delivery man brings flowers intended for Kelly. With the bunch, Kelly finds the ring which she had returned to Joe. Escaping the questions from Peter, she escapes...

Episode 34

At the beach bar, Ted reads to Augusta, Lionel and to C.C. the different clauses within the "contract" that he wrote with Laken, aimed at getting their relationship accepted by both families. Augusta accuses Warren of not being rather strict with Laken, but she sides with his sister by attacking Augusta's way of life for seventeen years. Lionel then has an appointment with his banker, but the banker refuses the loan which would allow him to buy back the residence at the beach desired by the Capwell's. Kelly lies and tells Peter that flowers were sent to her by her father. She confirms that she is not sure anymore either of the guilt of Joe, or his desire to get married. Suddenly, she drops the ring to the floor and Peter realises that the flowers came from Joe. Tired by his mistrust and his continuous accusations, Kelly forces Peter to leave her alone. Ted then tries to alleviate his sister, but Kelly refuses to tell him about her problems. When he goes back to see her with C.C., Kelly seems to have disappeared from the residence. At the lunch table, Rosa, Ruben and Danny make light of Santana about Cruz, when he arrives.  Everybody leaves so that just Cruz and Santana are there. Cruz tries to find out why Santana is trying so hard to model off Sophia. He at first thinks that it is because she wants to punish her parents to have remained employees of the Capwell's, then imagines that it is to entice C.C. to relive her love across him for Channing Jr. He then asks her to help him prove that Joe is innocent of his murder by giving her details of the place where Channing and she met secretly. Santana tells him about the small gazebo between the Capwell and Lockridge properties. Waiting for the night, Santana goes there and searches the site in vain where Channing Jr hid their love letters. But, Dominic turns up...

Episode 35

Back at home, Santana rereads the letter from Channing Jr in which he described the hiding-place in the gazebo. Of benefit that C.C. is occupied on the telephone with Gina about the state of health of a child named Brandon, Santana searches and ends up finding the stash. But when she comes back home, she finds her flat in disarray: Dominic passed thereabouts. Angry, Santana accuses Cruz of having searched her home in her absence, and then retracts. While the whole family is worried about Kelly, she ends up calling home. She entrusts Ted with the telephone number to reach her, but asks him not to give it to anybody. Later, Ted accepts a call from his other sister Eden, C.C. leaves urgently for Los Angeles, to find famous Gina. Richard Adam comes to announce to Peter that works at the presidential suite of the Capwell hotel are finished and that the two-way mirror was installed. Peter makes him promise to reveal to nobody the existence of this device. And yet already, Veronica notices something on the bill of jobs and questions her boss on this subject. Peter asks her to keep it secret, then to join Mason there at a party, so that he could spy on him. Without waiting, Veronica makes a report of this last news to Lionel, who hastens to go to the Capwell hotel. Hidden in the linen room where it has access to the face hidden behind the mirror, he discovers Peter in brave company with... Augusta. Meanwhile, Dominic went to the gazebo at the Capwell's and begins searching the hiding-place of Channing Jr, when suddenly a voice interrupts him...

Episode 36

Joe, armed with a revolver, steals the letters hidden in the Capwell gazebo. When Santana arrives there with Cruz, all that she intended to find had disappeared. Lionel rejoices following behind the two-way mirror the discussion between Augusta and Peter. All their hanky-panky and their lies appear. Peter walks Augusta back home up to the lift, when Mason and the lawyers arrive to work on the renovation of the Lockridge residence at the beach. Peter wants to follow their discussion in the linen room across the mirror, but Veronica dissuades him from it, promising him to note it down. So, Lionel follows his spying, with a bottle of wine in his hand. He however finds it difficult to keep his head facing Mason's attacks in the neighbouring room. Veronica comes to join him and tries to appease him, before Mason discovers that he is spying on them. Lionel ends up going back home, completely drunk. At the Perkins residence, John attends the party with Marisa, while Jade is invited by Danny for a drink at the beach bar. But Warren joins them and Danny prefers leaving the party by taking Jade back home. Jade tells him that she considers him to be a very good friend, which disillusions Danny rather well. In Cruz's boathouse, Joe and Dominic do the stocktaking of treasure which they found at the gazebo. Joe reads to Dominic a passage from the newspaper about Channing Jr in which he wrote, a few days before his death, that he has just made a discovery likely to confuse many lives...

Episode 37

At Cruz's boathouse, Joe takes Dominic's photo then forces him to leave. Cruz just arrives and surprises the end of their discussion about Santana's baby. Unaware of this information, he goes to Santana and offers for her to confide in him on this subject. Joe finds, among the letters from Channing Jr, a photo of a woman addressed as "L.L.". He wonders whom it could be about. At the Lockridge residence, the party is transformed into chases and fights between Augusta and Lionel. Lionel tells her that he knows where and with whom she has been with, while Augusta refuses to have to give a count to her husband. On the ground floor, Minx prefers taking out her earplugs. Once the lawyers leave, Mason as planned invites Veronica for a drink afterwards at the presidential suite. Veronica pretends to be tired and pushes Mason to speak to her. He tells her how he was a victim of his father's lack of interest as a child and compares him to Hitler. Behind the two-way mirror, Peter records all the discussion on a tape recorder. When Ted comes back home having walked Laken back home, he finds Peter who asks him to call Kelly to see if she is going well. But while he promised to Ted to stay in the neighbouring room during communication, he grabs another telephone and asks Kelly to come back. Kelly responds by saying that she has made a decision concerning them, a decision that she prefers to entrust him with in person the next day...

Episode 38

It is the day of the return of classes in Lyman. Jade, Laken and Ted suffer from their arrival the strictness and the coarseness of their new professor, Mr Bottoms. Lionel joins Augusta in The Mesa and a very "hot" breakfast. Once they go home, they are interrupted by Lionel's lawyer who reminds him that property auction at the beach takes place in afternoon. Augusta, who was unaware of this news, goes to Peter's office and asks what he knows about this affair. But he refuses to tell her. Peter prefers showing Veronica his recording of his discussion with Mason where Mason calls his father all names. Lionel does not need more time to be in possession of the tape, favoured once again by the discreet involvement of Veronica. Meanwhile, Augusta joins Joe in The Mesa and fears for his greeting when he tells her that the police seem to have found both men who had tried to kill him on his return to Santa Barbara. Mason goes to Santana and finds her on sound 31. He suspects her of going to a brave appointment with Cruz.  And yet Santana in fact joins C.C. who takes her for a visit in a helicopter of the region. The auction for the property at the beach begins. In spite of their disagreement, Augusta joins Lionel there. Lionel begins with a two million dollar offer. When Peter arrives at his office, he is surprised to find Kelly there. Kelly demands freedom from him to see Joe when she wants to...

Episode 39

The auction for the property at the beach goes up with renewed energy. When he is forced to offer ten million dollars, Lionel suggests Mason takes time to think and introduces him an envelope. Indoors, Mason finds a tape and Lionel's note which tells him that he intends to give a copy of the recording to C.C. for his birthday if Mason continues bidding. Mason listens to the tape and decides to continue with the auction. Unable to give anymore, Lionel resigns himself to leaving the property to the Capwells. Mason is then taken to Veronica, accusing her of having recorded their discussion of the other evening and of being a spy for Lionel. She tries to defend herself. Mason drives her to the presidential suite of the Capwell hotel and, by searching the room, discovers a microphone there allowing to Veronica to be washed by any suspicion. Joe goes to the hotel Yucca Dunes of San Fransisco where the wife in the photo in 1960 would of stayed.  And yet Dominic outstripped him and tore the page of the register of the hotel where the name would have appeared. Santana accepts Mason's visit who tries to find out with whom she spent the afternoon with. Of benefit to be alone for a few minutes, he phones and learns that Cruz spent the day on an oil rig. He deducts from it that Santana has another candidate. Having welcomed a young woman and her son at the Capwell hotel, Kelly comes back to the residence with her suitcases. She announces to C.C., Mason and Ted her intention of retying links with Joe...
