Episode 10

C.C. Capwell organises a press conference in the Capwell residence to reassure the residents of Santa Barbara on the risks incurred following the explosion of the oil rig. He counts nevertheless on a person named Cruz Castillo to overcome the damage still to come. For her part, Minx does not miss the chance to see the Capwell's publicly, during a television talk-show the guest of which she is. Santana, who has decided not to leave C.C. in peace, pays for the services of a private detective to learn everything about his occupations. And yet the detective is also providing his service to C.C. and hastens to inform him of Santana's visit with the departure of her. In Hollywood, Ted and Danny are trying hard to be excited by Jade's visit, which has upset their small duo of co-tenants by reorganising the sharing out of chores in her advantage and by becoming established in the only room of the flat, making Ted and Danny spend the night on the sofa! Augusta goes to Perkins and offers Joe to come to work for her as a maintenance man in the Lockridge residence. An offer which is far from satisfying Warren, very angry he opposes his mother. As he accepted the key on behalf of Dominic that opens Channing Jr's room, Joe goes to the Capwell's house at night. While Kelly is asleep, dreaming about a confrontation between Peter and Joe for her charms, Joe enters the residence and gets to the right level. He slips his key into the lock of Channing's room when suddenly a deafening ring of one alarm blares...

Episode 11

Joe just has the time to hide in a wardrobe before Kelly leaves her room. Philip, the butler, alerts C.C., who is absent from the residence. Of benefit that everybody joined the police on the ground floor, Joe opens a window and escapes. Peter, who has come to the rescue of Kelly, already suspects Joe of being the intruder. The following day, Joe, having met with a new refusal for a job, accepts a visit from Sally Taylor, an old friend from high school. She offers him to help in her research of rehabilitation by giving him a job at Georgio's diner, the restaurant where she works. Danny encourages Jade who is discouraged to persist in her ambition to become a movie star. Jade panics when, whilst she is on the telephone with Laken, she is accosted by a man blocking the entrance of the phone box which she is in. In the Capwell residence, C.C. announces to Santana that he is not interested in her redecorating his office anymore. He has more important things to concentrate on like the danger which threatens his oil rig. Famous Cruz Castillo finally arrives there and tries to bring down the pressure of it, right in the middle of a fire. With the situation deteriorating, he has no other option than to put an explosive in intended to blow up the rig, which blows up some seconds later, Cruz is in its edge. Learning news, C.C. fears for the life of his specialist, when Cruz suddenly rings the door, his face blackened by the explosion. Cruz therefore does not miss to point out Santana, who smiles at him on his arrival...

Episode 12

While he begins talking with Santana, who is an old childhood friend, Cruz collapses on the floor. He is driven to the hospital, where Santana, Mason and C.C.. take turns in visiting him. C.C. even offers him a post at Capwell Enterprises. For her part, Santana discovers that the private detective whom she hired to follow C.C. is in fact working for C.C. too. In Hollywood, Jade understands that the man trapping her is a pimp who offers her to work for him ! She succeeds in avoiding him by wedging her hand in the door of the phone box and runs away up to the flat of the boys. It does take a long time for the man; Seymour is his first name, to track her and he forces the front-door. But he is welcomed by Ted and Danny who make him believe to already be both Jade's agents. Sally, after a lunch in The Mesa with Joe, goes home, to announce bad news: his boss refuses to hire him because of his name. But it proves to be that it is in fact Augusta who worked in shadow to cause this appointment to fail. Augusta who, besides, gave permission to her daughter to find her friends in Hollywood. Before leaving, Laken accepts a phone call from her father, based in Bali. At the same time, Kelly and Joe each accept the same cryptic telegram inviting them to go to the same meeting point the following day...

Episode 13

Kelly and Joe each arrive by cable and meet face to face right in the middle of a stable. Joe tells her that he is unaware of the identity of the person having organised their meeting. Kelly gives him five minutes to explain before leaving. And once again, Joe explains that he still loves her and that he came back to Santa Barbara for her, as well as to find the true murderer of Channing Jr. Kelly is a little more interested in what he has to say now. Augusta accepts Joe's late visit, to announce that he has finally accepted the offer to work for her. She offers to celebrate the event with champagne! When leaving their home, Jade, Ted and Danny surprise a man stealing a handbag from an old lady. Ted and Danny launch in his chase into the staircases of the building and immobilise him. To thank them, the lady invites them to her home under the name of Peaches Delight, an old actress and famous dancer. As Laken, who has just joined them, has permission to stay only for day, Ted asks their new friend to phone Augusta to negotiate in their favour. At the end of the call, Augusta ends up giving in and Laken can spend the first night with Ted, lying with him on the sofa of their small flat...

Episode 14

Jade and Danny are surprised that Laken and Ted could spend the night only together without having finally slept together. Peaches Delight later gives Jade an unforgettable dance class, to again give her confidence in power of seduction, since her confidence was damaged by her failures at auditions. Kelly, who has come to visit Cruz in the hospital, discovers Joe there who had the same idea as her. After some new threats from Peter, Joe bumps into friendly Toni, the doctor of Kelly. Toni entrusts him with the information that Kelly is not so in love with Peter, this, of course, delights Joe. Cruz is then driven to the Capwell residence, where C.C. invited him to recover. Meanwhile, Joe goes to the Lockridge residence where he begins his first working day. Already, Augusta plays a game of seduction with him, going even to the point of asking him to rub some sun cream on her back! But Joe succeeds in eluding her not very subtle advances. He is later interrupted in his job by Minx, who feels sorry for his poor fate of wrongly being accused. Peter, who learnt about Joe's appointment, goes to the residence and demands that Augusta send back her new employee. Augusta listens to him with a detached look, not very keen to take his orders seriously. Joe, who accepts a call from Dominic at the Lockridge's, goes to their usual meeting point. Dominic tells him that the Capwell residence will be empty the following evening because of a reception to be held on the family yacht. He invites him to reattempt a small visit in Channing Jr's room, not without delivering him the code to disarm the alarm...

Episode 15

Augusta returns to visit Peter and asks him for 100 000 dollars in exchange for getting rid of Joe. She threatens him to reveal their past affair and his inappropriate gestures towards some former students of his high school. Whilst waiting for his answer, Augusta invites Joe for a break by joining her in the swimming pool. Joe to comply, dives into the water fully dressed and kisses victorious Augusta on the lips. He later entrusts her with the information that he is about to force access to Channing Jr's room, to find evidence that can exonerate him. Laken, back at home, is surprised to find Joe there. In his room in the Capwell residence where he is confined to bed, Cruz accepts the visit from C.C., then Mason. Cruz criticizes Mason for not making an effort to find who is responsible for Joe's attack in the coach having brought him back to Santa Barbara or else that threw the bomb at Perkins. Mason argues straight back accusing Cruz for his company with a supposed murderer. On the evening of the big reception with the Capwells, Joe enters the family residence and begins by disarming alarm. He then goes up to Channing Jr's room which he opens very carefully. The celebration on the yacht is in full swing when C.C. accepts an anonymous phone call: the person tells him she has seen a man climbing the wall of her property. The voice is silent when suddenly it appears that it is Augusta who is on the other end of the line...

Episode 16

Joe, not knowing too much about what he is searching for, pockets some business cards from Channing Jr's room haphazardly. The police, who have been alerted by C.C. in continuation from Augusta's phone call, arrive there. Joe just has the time to slip into one of the rooms before C.C. and Mason run up in there. He suddenly realises that the room where he took refuge is occupied by his friend Cruz! Cruz hastens him to hide in the wardrobe, before the police come to question him about what he would have been able to see or hear during the party. Kelly later comes to confide in Cruz, confessing to him that she is still thinking of Joe. In Hollywood, Jade has an audition with the baron Lloyd Winterset. Without being surprised at the presence of two other candidates with a vulgar appearance in his waiting room, Jade enters the office of the famous producer. The Baron seems attentive to give Jade his first role. Jade seems to be surprised at his request and shows him her legs in all their length... Cruz offers Joe to run away from the residence by hiding in his car. Joe takes his keys and gets ready to take the staircase down when he sees C.C. at the bottom. He turns fast around in the corridor, when he is suddenly face to face with Kelly...

Episode 17

Kelly threatens Joe to report him to the police, but Joe succeeds in discouraging her from it. Kelly then agrees to help him escape the residence by a window. Mason, suspicious towards Cruz after this night, joins him to leave the Capwell residence quickly. Cruz then asks Santana to help him to find a new home. Santana does not forget her son whose birthday it is today. She goes to C.C.'s place with a present which she would like C.C. to give to him. C.C. who is wary at first ends up accommodating her request. Back at home, Santana lights the candles of a birthday cake which she devotes with sadness, but hope, to her son. In Hollywood, Jade receives a message from the producer: his first filming begins in the evening - at midnight! Meanwhile, Ted learns from Laken that her mother hired Joe as a maintenance man. He proves to be shocked by this gesture towards the one whom he still considers to be the murderer of his brother, in spite of the presence of Jade by his side. At home, Joe sorts among objects stolen from Channing Jr's room: between the objects there is a diary and a love letter from an addressee of which he is unaware. He hastens to show his booty to Dominic, who suddenly grabs the different pieces whilst threatening Joe with a revolver...

Episode 18

Joe says to Dominic that he does not trust him and even accuses him of being the murderer of Channing Jr. Dominic runs away, but Joe follows him by car up to his flat. He loses his trace at the entrance of the building and no neighbour seems to know Dominic. Jade is anxious at the idea of passing her audition. Shortly after her departure, she goes back to the flat of the boys and announces to Danny that she had an accident with Ted's car. She rejoins and lets Danny announce her news. When she arrives in the hotel room where her appointment takes place, she only finds Willard Holmby, the associate of the baron Winterset, with a camera in front of the bed. Santana asks C.C. if he sent her birthday present to her son. But he refuses to answer her.  Cruz, for whom it is the first day out of the bed, goes with Santana on the harbour, to visit a boathouse to be rented. He blazes immediately for the place and signs an exorbitant cheque for a deposit. Mason asks Peter to stop his secret appointments with Augusta, which he was informed about by neighbours. Augusta iterates her effects of seduction on Joe, who is doing a gardening job on her property. And yet Kelly, who passed on horseback behind the fence, surprises them embraced. She falls down from horse and tries to get back up. But her shirt hangs onto a barbed wire separating both properties. She calls Joe for help and he comes to detach her. Helping promiscuity, both end up kissing each other...

Episode 19

In spite of them sharing a passionate kiss, Kelly pushes back Joe. Augusta's intervention is only getting worse with the state of indecision of Kelly, who prefers leaving again. By coming back at home, she bumps into Mason who understands that she had to make up with Joe. He then hastens to lodge a complaint by telephone against him for harassment. Kelly, who has decided to refocus her desires on Peter, organises a small party for him in the flat as a lover. She especially wants to apologise for her bad-tempered and distant behaviour over these last days. Jade starts her audition in a hotel room of the seediest man. Willard Holmby asks her to move her body and why not dance in front of the camera. Jade, without being offended, prefers declining his request. In State Street bar, Joe is joined by his father with whom he wants to try to go back. But John finds it difficult to answer his son. Cruz gets his place then from the bar discusses the feelings of Kelly with Joe in his respect. They are interrupted by Mason, come to stop Joe for harassment. Fortunately, Cruz succeeds in turning the accusation against Mason, making him understand that he is ill-founded and that the only person who harasses is him. The night has arrived, Cruz offers to a bit tired Joe to bring him back home, but Joe prefers leaving again alone. He is in fact heading to the Lockridge residence where he is going to find Augusta to spend the night there...
