 It was on
Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 August 2000 in Paris, France, that the 1st
unofficial European Santa Barbara convention had been held,
organized on the initiative of four fans of the continent. Joined together for
48 hours in the French capital under a radiant sun, they celebrated - as it
should be - their passion for the show. Connected at the beginning by the
intermediary of internet and this site, they finally could concretize an
exchange which lasted since nearly one year for some of them !
A
meeting largely exceeding the frontiers since the convention joined together Britta,
from Germany, the author of the fan-fiction Cilia on this site, Virginia,
from Belgium, author of the site about Judith McConnell
and Jed Allan, Céline, from Corsica another huge fan of Judith and
Jed, and finally Nicolas, from France, in fact myself, the author of
this site...
The success
of this meeting came also from its spontaneous side, quasi-improvised, and from the shared
pleasure to be able to discuss of Santa Barbara face-to-face and
with friends finally visible in three dimensions...! :-)
