Judge Glenn Shorter is a friend of Minx Lockridge's. During a dinner at the Lockridge villa, he attends with Minx the eternal quarrels between Lionel and Gina to make each other jealous. Tired of these exchanges, he goes together with Minx to the Capwells, where C.C. organizes a reception.

Honorable judge Shorter dies then suddenly from a heart attack on the Capwell sofa. Further to his death, Julia and Mason will oppose each other to obtain his post as a judge.
