Chief of police in the village of Bambero, Manolo is also associated with crime because he collaborates actively with Richard Matthews and his accomplices. While Cruz questions him about the kidnapping of his friends, Manolo is obliged to have it both ways. He promises to Cruz to do his utmost to find them. In reality, he makes a phone call so that Cruz gets eliminated.

Cruz understands Manolo's double role, and harasses him and threatens him to discover where his friends are. Under Cruz's threats, Manolo eventually tells all the truth, offering to Cruz the possibility of saving them.
