Earl Stiller is a lawyer of the city. He differs from other lawyers by a younger age and, however, this does not prevent him from managing some important files of the powerful C.C. Capwell. Today, he goes to the Capwell Villa for a most explosive case : the Maggie Gillis case against the Capwell Enterprises. Welcomed by C.C. himself, Earl tells the businessman that it is his own son, Mason, who will manage the case for the opposing party. If this seems to worry Earl a little, this is not the case of C.C., who orders his lawyer to make the meeting take place at the villa to destabilize Mason. Earl feels very quickly constrained by the pressure which opposes C.C. to his son Mason. It is hardly if he opposes the presence of the stenographer, Geri Stratton, who accompanies Mason. It is in half words that he argues about the actions implemented by the Capwell Enterprises to avoid accidents. It is still with meager arguments that he answers Maggie Gillis's expectations, by speaking only of the false hopes generated by Mason. During the verbal contest, Earl seems to shrink, leaving C.C. to defend himself. Given his lack of charisma, of presence, of arguments, it is obvious that C.C. will change of lawyer for a more experienced lawyer for the next confrontation with Mason and Maggie...
