Charlie Barnes is a serious and principled police officer. A motorcycle cop, he arrests Kelly Capwell for speeding while she is having fun behind the wheel of her suitor Jimmy Foxworthy's Ferrari. Not immune to the charms of the young lawbreaker, he asks her out on a date that very same day.

The following day, he takes her to Topsy Turvy's, where three of his fellow police officers join them. But Kelly, slightly drunk and determined not to get attached after her breakup with Robert Barr, abandons Charlie in the middle of their date to dance with Ric Castillo. Charlie realizes that Kelly is only interested in flirting and decides not to pursue her any further.

The police officer makes one final appearance a few weeks later. This time, he is the first to arrive at the scene of a car accident involving Kelly. He finds the car overturned and Kelly, fortunately, unharmed but completely drunk. He calls Cruz Castillo for assistance to take Kelly into custody and arrest her, while regretting to see the young woman putting both herself and others at such risk.
