Since the premiere of the show Santa Barbara many scenes have been filmed in and around the actual city of Santa Barbara, California.

When Kelly Capwell (Robin Wright) was engaged to marry Peter Flint (Steve Meadows), the two enjoyed sailing around the harbor on the Capwell yacht.

Wanting to obtain the treasures that lay in a safe in the sunken family ship, the Amanda, ambitious Lionel Lockridge (Nicolas Coster) prepared himself and his son, Warren (John Allen Nelson) to make the dive. Coster, who is an actual certified scuba diving instructor, taught John to dive, so the two would be able to perform the sequences (which were done in the Pacific Ocean) themselves.
