Just as is decided a "day for peace" or a "day for the Earth", Mr. Bradley, mayor of Los Angeles, has decreed the "Santa Barbara Day". The reason : the favorite soap of millions televiewers all over the world celebrated on last 12 June, in the United States, its eighth birthday, that is to say 2000 episodes... Not less than one score of new comers join the saga of the Capwells. And the writers seek a new couple star to fill the defections of A Martinez, alias Cruz, and Marcy Walker, alias Eden. On the scene, the faithful Nicolas Coster (Lionel Lockridge), to who "Cruz" has wished good luck, and Robin Mattson, the intriguing Gina (they have just married). Robin sits with her mother (in the show) played by Stella Stevens, and the young Justin Gocke, the son of "Channing" she had adopted. As for C.C. Capwell (Jed Allan), he lives the perfect love with Sophia (Judith McConnell). But all that, it is for later, on our side. Where is Robin ? Where is Marcy ? A Martinez is smiling, like all the actors of Santa Barbara taking part in the party. However A Martinez seeks from the eyes the ex-sisters Capwell, Robin Wright and Marcy Walker. They will not come. The first one plays, with Robin Williams, in the movie of Barry Levinson, Toys. And the second one is in Chicago for her new TV movie Overexposed. A Martinez chatters with the ones, with the others : "I leave Santa Barbara the heavy heart, in spite of the happiness which I have to become a significant hero of L.A. Law. I had finished, in eight years, by regarding Cruz as my brother." Eight years already. Santa Barbara began on July 30, 1984. It is amusing to meet John Allen Nelson, the former Warren Lockridge, discussing with the one who succeeded to him in the role, Jack Wagner. |
