In the past season there emerged a choice group of actors who proved they could light up a screen. Many a re making their premiere performance on continuing drama ; some have only been on a few months but already they are mesmerizing their audience with talent, verve and sparkle. What follows is a melange of performances we think are only beginning to shine. Read on !

Marcy Walker : Eden Capwell, Santa Barbara

We loved to hate Marcy Walker as Liza Colby on All My Children, but that's about as far as it went. While Marcy's dramatic abilities weren't exactly overlooked - no one will ever forget Liza's self-destructive sexual binging following her mother's betrayal - she was ofter overshadowed by other young women on the show, particularly Kim Delaney (ex-Jenny). Marcy's decision to leave All My Children, relocate to California and originate the role of glamorous, willful Eden Capwell on Santa Barbara will give her just the kind of exposure this young actress deserves.

Barely into her twenties, as Eden, Marcy is playing a far more self-assured role than the sharp-tongued, vindictive Liza. Eden's exploits are set up to be larger than life, and that's the kind of visibility that makes people sit up and take notice.

In Marcy's case, it already seems to be working : there's talk of her being signed to a feature film. This is definitely the year in which Marcy Walker will leave the supporting roles behind.
