Nicolas Coster, Ted Demers's co-star on One Life to Live, has wrapped up his work on the show and moved to California, where he went to work immediately on The Fall Guy before reporting to Santa Barbara, the new NBC soap opera, in which he plays Lionel Lockridge.

Santa Barbara airs opposite General Hospital, which was the kiss of death for NBC's previous soap, Texas. Then General Hospital was the top show in daytime, but now that the show is no longer a consistent #1 in the ratings, it's an all new ball game.

Santa Barbara has been stocking its company with some pretty potent players, such as Peter Mark Richman, late of Dynasty, Marcy Walker, who left her role as Liza on All my Children for a move to the West coast and Louise Sorel, who is a very popular actress on the night time / guest circuit. Santa Barbara also promises some new faces, and an impressive multi-million dollar sound stage has been built at NBC to house the show. The advance word is... excitement !
