Cain Garver's cabin
Utah

In the heart of the snowy Utah mountains is Cain Garver's cabin. All made of wood, it is apparently made of a single room where Cain took refuge a few years after the trauma of the Vietnam War. A heavy bell nailed near the entrance allows potential visitors to announce their arrival.

Inside the cabin, a central bar separates the room in two parts. On one side, on the left while entering, we find the kitchen, an old wood stove in black cast iron (which serves both of cooker and heating), with a table, some chairs and the equipment needed to the meal preparation (mainly from hunting and gathering). Along the beam is the bed, covered with animal skins, which will be used by Eden Capwell the time of her convalescence after her fall in the mountains. Beside the bed, there is a small wooden bedside table, upon which Cain will deposit Eden's engagement ring, a ring that Cruz will barely miss seeing during his visit to the cabin.

Along the walls, a stove (from time to time, Cain suspends his clothes along a rope to dry them), a rattan sofa and various hunting tools find their way into a feeling of mess that inspires more fear than conviviality. At the bottom of the room is a cupboard, where Cain hid the chest where he keeps the memories of his previous life.

Outside the cabin, nothing but trees and fields, even if we know that a small town is not far away, where Cain goes shopping. The town has a small hospital, where Cain will lead Eden for medical advice. To allow Eden to exercise to regain the use of her legs, Cain will build a small pool with water source just outside the entrance to the cabin. Near the cottage, in the heart of a clearing, lies a lake, around which Eden and Cruz will barely find each other. Nature reigns as a master in these mountainous regions, and Cain's nearest neighbors are not men, but bears. Cain will besides meet one during one of his outings.
