The
district attorney's office

Representative of the State, the Santa Barbara district attorney occupies a central place in a lot of the storylines of the show : he even regularly replaces the police forces by initiating investigations, questioning the suspects and does not hesitate sometimes to fit out the law according to his needs (particularly in the case of Keith Timmons).
We reach the district attorney's office by the office of his secretary (Irene, Christine, Muffy, Arlene, Mona, Phyllis Blake or the only male secretary seen in the show, A. Bartlett Congdon).
From there, a glass door leads to the sober and modest size office of the district attorney.
On the left of the desk, a big cupboard with drawers conceals files and pieces of evidence, whereas shelves inlayed in the bottom wall welcome dusty law books.
Keith Timmons, district attorney from 1986 till 1988 then from 1990 till 1991, also appreciates the target that he hung on the left of his front door, where he trains to hit the photos of his Capwell enemies he fixed on it.
In 1989, the district attorney's office knows a light face-lift, with a full wooden door instead of the glass door, which is situated from now on more in the left of the study by entering, and either in the middle of the wall.
Among the other Santa Barbara district attorneys, we can name Tony Patterson between 1985 and 1986, Mason Capwell in 1986, Julia Wainwright between 1988 and 1989, Ethan Asher between 1989 and 1990, Nathaniel Marley in 1991, and finally Ben Arnold in 1992.
As assistant of the district attorney, Julia Wainwright occupies another office, next to Keith Timmons'.
