Peter Flint, Kelly's fiancé, lives in a studio in a building of Santa Barbara. It can be surprising that a character of his social level (a former gigolo and physics teacher at Lyman prep, he becomes manager of the Capwell Hotel and is engaged to the daughter of the richest family of the city) lives in a so modest place : the sofa is used as a bed, and the kitchen occupies only a small part of the apartment.
The whole flat reminds very simple : walls in weak tone, without originality; a classic apartment of a young bachelor from the middle class. Only posters of journeys or horses (Peter plays polo) remind his status of privileged young man. We can also find placed in evidence on shelves some cups won during polo matches.
In the bottom of the apartment, a door on the right gives access to a small bathroom.
It is in this small studio that Peter will be caught up by his past, by being surprised by the intrusion of Ginger Jones, the pimp for whom he formerly worked in Miami.
