In spring 1986, after her break-up with her) fiancé Nick Hartley, Kelly Capwell moves into a small apartment in the center of Santa Barbara. She obtains her lease all the more fast as she stays in the same building as she previously occupied, near the restaurant La Mesa. But this time she leaves the ground floor for the 4th floor. She keeps this location secret of her family during several days, to quietly look back over her life.
The apartment is similar in all points to Sally Taylor's, occupied one time by Kelly and Joe Perkins, then by Mason Capwell, and more recently by Janice Harrison. We find this central room which combines lounge, dining room and kitchen, with on the back a window, giving this time onto a metallic balcony. It is through this window that regularly comes to visit her her neighbor, a saxophonist named Justin Moore (in reality a psychiatrist to whom Nick asks to look on Kelly).
At the very right of the room, a corner is reserved for the bedroom, then a door gives access to the bathroom. It is there that Kelly will make her worst nightmares, seeing Dylan Hartley be transformed into Peter Flint, resuscitating in front of her eyes and threatening her of death.
