The DuVall family | ||||||||
|
Women's family, the DuVall family turns however up in Santa Barbara for the glory of a man, Steve Bassett, promoted new assistant of the district attorney of the city. It is however through the fate of the women of the family, and more particularly the daughters, that comes to light a family given up by the maternal figure.
Family without paternal image, and with a maternal image which is lacking, the DuValls are a family lost without points of reference, without barriers, delivering each of its members in the search of structuring values : Mary finds a way out in the religious life, Christie in a wild need to feel loved, and as for Steve... It is in the transgression of the family taboos that he finds a way to exist. Incapable to go out of this pack of women, he can only invent a future among them, even if it means abusing his half sisters.
The time will overcome this family and, in spite of a takeover by Theda, the DuVall family will not be able to escape its somber fate.
